Despite a significant drop in the Nielsen ratings, last year the America’s Got Talent TV show on NBC remained a top performer, bested only by regular season programs This Is Us and The Voice (just barely). Although the summer series is back for a 14th season, with a new host and two new judges, there’s no need to worry whether America’s Got Talent will be cancelled or renewed for season 15. It was picked up ahead of this season’s debut. We’re still tracking the ratings though, so stay tuned.
An NBC nationwide talent competition, America’s Got Talent features both individuals and groups competing. The winning act receives a cash prize and the chance to headline in the America’s Got Talent Live show in Las Vegas. In season 14, Terry Crews joins as the TV series’ fifth host, replacing Tyra Banks. Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell return to judge. They’re joined by Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, who are taking over for Melanie Brown and Heidi Klum.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the America’s Got Talent TV series? Should NBC have cancelled or renewed this reality TV show competition for a 15th season?
The show sucks anymore and seems to be more about poor me stories than talent. I am tired of all the sob stories for votes, it has gotten old now so stopped watching.
Agreed. its also gone “woke”! Put a fork in it, its done.
Yellow tix given out too frequently. Last one was “no way”! Rapping Choir over the Guitar player.? Really!?!
