Bad news for The Breaks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, BET has cancelled their plans for a second season of the TV show.
The drama, which aired its first season on VH1, follows three young friends chasing their hip hop dreams in New York City in 1990. The cast includes Afton Willamson, Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, Antoine Harris, David Call, Evan Handler, Melonie Diaz, Sinqua Walls, and Ali Ahn.
In April, we reported BET had renewed The Breaks for a second season. However, now it looks like that season is a no-go as BET has little room in their 2018-2019 schedule left after they recently picked up several other series.
As of now, it’s unclear if another network will pick up season two of The Breaks. Though, it seems unlikely.

I barely watch t.v and very disappointed that this show one of the fewe shows I show interest in is cancelled. This is why i hate t.v
Highly disappointed to find out this show has cancelled. It was one of the best and possibly the only one showing how hip-hop affected us and the people who began with it. Great soundtrack and plot line. Truly disappointed not to see it coming back.
I’m highly disappointed the show is not going to be brought back for a second season. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time on TV. I sure hope somebody picks it up and so great show.

As a president of a label working with a legend a hip hop Legend the show the breaks really is a good show and it shows how up-and-coming artist struggle to live their dream. It shows how even though you live in a low-income area you still can Live Your Dream, You really need to bring the show back.
