Hallmark Channel doesn’t produce many original drama series but that doesn’t mean that those few shows are safe from being cancelled. The channel has now introduced Chesapeake Shores, a small-town drama that may remind some viewers of the Cedar Cove TV series (which was cancelled last fall, after three seasons). Will this new series succeed? Will Chesapeake Shores be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A multi-generational family drama, Chesapeake Shores follows a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother of twin daughters. She makes a trip from New York City to her hometown and comes face to face with her past. It may finally be time for her to mend her fences with her family and put the past to rest. At the same time, she may get a chance to revive her long-lost true love. The cast includes Meghan Ory, Jesse Metcalfe, Treat Williams, Diane Ladd, Laci J. Mailey, Emilie Ullerup, and Barbara Niven.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
