What’s in store for the end of Code Black? Recently, executive producer Michael Seitzman spoke with TVLine about the CBS TV show’s upcoming series finale.
As reported earlier, the network has cancelled the medical drama after three seasons. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, Moon Bloodgood, and Rob Lowe.
In the interview, Seitzman revealed there will be some closure for the series finale of Code Black, which is slated to air on CBS on July 18th at 10 p.m. ET/PT:
At the end of every season, we’ve ended the season to be a story ender for everybody so there’s a sense of closure not just among the audience who we make the show for but also for ourselves. The third season had the added specter of a possible cancellation, which made it more urgent for us to create something for every story that felt like an ending to some degree.”

You couldn’t have said it any better. This is the best show
pDYaD
I LOVE the show, as do MANY people on twitter have said. There is no explanation for canceling the show. VIEWERS WANT THE SHOW TO STAY. AND FYI, ALOT OF VIEWERS HAVE HAD 20 YEARS TOO MANY OF BIG BROTHER. SAVE CODE BLACK. SAVE CODE BLACK. SAVE CODE BLACK
We have watched this show from day one. It is one of the best shows on TV. Very disappointed in this decision.
I love this show, I have watched it since the beeginning. It is much better than the reality shows that aren’t so real. I am very unhappy the show is being cancelled, so disappointing.
This show is the BEST medical drama on air…WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU CANCEL IT! PLEASE change this to be ongping. Code Black has the BEST ACTORS, CHARACTERS, STORY LINES, EVERYTHING.
Every time I love a show they cancel it. Take off some of those reality shows there are way too many of them. Please don’t cancel it.
I love this show!!!! Why are the networks cancelling the good stuff and keeping all the reality crap??? Can’t somebody else pick them up? I usually watch each episode at least twice and then I can’t hardly wait for the next episode each week, it gives me something to look forward to.
Please don’t take this show off!!!!!!please,,,please,,,,please
When I can’t catch an episode in its timeslot, I watch it on demand. I haven’t missed one. Sorry to see it go. Would love to see it stay.
I have watched this show since the beginning. It’s one of the few that I purposefully schedule my week around. I enjoy the characters and their relationships with each other. Why can’t the TV executives end stupid shows like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Big Brother, or are they making the studios too much money? In my opinion, there aren’t enough shows like this one. I will greatly miss it.
Laurie
absolutely agree Laurie! Too many idiots shows on now a great one gets cancelled unbelievable!
I haven’t missed an episode of Code Black, working in the medical field this shows heartbeat is palpable and realistic. The intertwining of the personal lives and professional lives is well done and not over dramatic. I’m sad to see it go, the talent is great and it will be missed.
I love this show! Why in the world would you cancel it? The Writers have great stories and the cAST IS OUTSTANDING. I also watch Chicago Med, the Resident, the Good Doctor, and Code Black is the best of the bunch! There is room for all these shows so keep t going. I’m getting on Twitter to save this show. It worked for Lucifer!
Please don’t cancel it. It is an intelligent, interesting show, with stories that have feeling. It’s an excellent cast.
NO! Every time I watch this I feel sadness knowing that it’s cancelled.
Don’t want it to end. A good show and should be picked up by fox.
There aren’t many stories in tv any more because they have gone to no talent no pay for reality. I personally don’t need more reality.
Ted
I agree And I like the fact that it shows the ER as real life and not like other shows
