FOX really needed a ratings hit and last season, Empire delivered. The music drama started out strong and the numbers just kept getting better each week. The season finale delivered ratings highs and it became the highest-rated show on broadcast television in the coveted 18-49 demographic. Will the numbers continue to climb in season two or will they fall? Could last season have been a fluke? Could Empire be cancelled or is it almost guaranteed to be renewed for a third season? Empire revolves around Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), the CEO of a successful hip hop music company, and his family. Lucious has three ambitious sons — business-minded Andre (Trai Byers), gay musician Jamal (Jussie Smollett), and fame-obsessed musician Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) — as well as an ex-wife named Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) who served time in prison for her husband. In one way or another, they all want to control the family empire. The rest of the cast includes Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Serayah McNeill, and Gabourey Sidibe.

I love empire and think it is one of the best shows made. Season 2 wasn’t the greatest but I think it has gotten much better since. Love the music. Love the chemistry between Taraji and Terrance. Please don’t cancel another good show.
I’ve seen better and I’ve seen worse on TV, however, I think its very entertaining…season 1 was definitely better but this season was pretty good too. Taraji and Terrance have great chemistry together.

The popularity of this show depresses me. Have we really sunk this far where over-the-top, B-grade acting is lapped up so voraciously? And, Taraji Henson prances around like she’s the next Marilyn Monroe! Talk about delusional!
Won’t last long because of the inferior writing and acting. Please cancel this 5th rate soap opera! Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!
I totally love this show it is first of its kind, its a program that makes u feel all the emotions. The Lyons are a family that everyone Envy’s. Enjoyed season 1 but it has gone nowhere but down. Characters are just a bunch of crazy people. You can sense that the success of season 1 went to the producers and actors heads. Think I just watched my last episode. Snugs out!

Loved the first season but the second season has really dragged. The cliffhanger resolution was pretty predictable. The seem to have run out of storyline…time to move on!

Don’t care what anybody say Emire is a great show hands down The actors or new and put a fresh face to TV. They couldn’t of picked a better cast. People have no room to criticize but I understand criticism sells. Empire keep up the good work as long as people are talking you’re doing good when they stop then start to worry Love Y’all
The start of this new season is really slow to me and it’s misfiring on the edge it had in the beginning. It’s still a good show but, something is missing. So tired of Terrence Howard’s evil actions without any reason. Reminds me so much of the old Dallas T.V. show (African American version) and instead of oil monies, it’s the entertainment area.
There is so much wrong with this show.
1. Hakim is terrible.
2. Terrence Howard should leave the singing to those that can.
3. Gaby Sidabey (spelling?) is terrible.
4. Seems the writers don’t really know where they are going
5. Overall the cast are great at over acting.
But there are 2 things that keep me coming back……for now.

Stop crticizing… I am pretty sure things will get better. If it doesn’t, you can choose not to watch it….You have a choice.
