Esquire Network Announces New and Returning Series

by Jessica Pena, October 30, 2015

Esquire Network

Only two years after rebranding, the Esquire Network is branching out with new scripted and unscripted series. The network recently announced their new crop of shows as well as the premiere dates for returning series like Knife Fight.

The network’s new series include Uncorked, a look into the world of master sommeliers, and Spotless, a British crime drama starring Downton Abbey’s Brendan Coyle.

Knife Fight‘s season four will premiere on November 10th at 9 p.m., followed by the series premiere of Uncorked at 10 p.m.

On November 11th, you can see the season premiere of Going Deep with David Rees at 10 p.m.

Spotless will premiere on November 14th at 10 p.m. And on November 27th, Esquire Network will air a special “Black Belt Marathon” of Bruce Lee films in honor of Lee’s 75th birthday.

Here’s the official announcement (which includes premiere dates):

LOS ANGELES- OCTOBER 29, 2015- Esquire Network delivers the best of the scripted and unscripted worlds with a lineup of new and returning series beginning Tuesday, November 10th. From across the pond and into the twisted scripted world of the spine-tingling drama “Spotless,” to watching the meticulous and painstaking journeys of individuals who hope to secure the coveted title of Master Sommelier in “Uncorked,” witnessing the cutthroat kitchen of top chefs in “Knife Fight” and exploring the mind-boggling depths of the human mind with “Going Deep With David Rees, ” November delivers continuous evenings of entertainment and extremes. To top it off, a marathon of Bruce Lee’s finest performances will commence on Black Friday to commemorate the actor’s 75th birthday. Catch an exclusive “First Look” stream of the first episodes of original series before the official premieres here: http://tv.esquire.com/now/

It’s cooked or be cooked with the season four opener of “Knife Fight,” on Tuesday, November 10th at 9pm ET/PT. In each episode, two chefs go head-to-head, making at least two dishes in a single hour from a combination of secret ingredients judged by Chef Ilan Hall at his Brooklyn-based restaurant, The Gorbals. Shot tournament style, notable nation-wide chefs compete to conquer mystery ingredients and each other, with only one left standing. If you can stand the heat, catch a preview of what’s to come here: http://esq.tv/1OJez4O

Master Sommelier is more than just a title; it’s a badge of honor with the series premiere of “Uncorked” on Tuesday, November 10th at 10pm ET/PT. An achievement measured by passing one of the world’s most grueling exams, there are just over 200 Master Sommeliers in the world, and six New York City-based wine experts must prove they have the chops to be among them. From having to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the theory of wine to completing a blind tasting where they must guess the exact profile from just one sip – many have tried, and very few have succeeded. Catch a glimpse into the lives of the ambitious students and one of the few places where drinking counts as studying here: http://esq.tv/1Gi22E0

In the ultimate go-to guide, comedian, writer and entrepreneur David Rees reveals the not so obvious complexities of life’s most seemingly simple things on the Esquire season premiere of “Going Deep with David Rees” starting Wednesday, November 11th at 10pm ET/PT. In each half-hour episode, Rees plays scientific and anthropological host of this “how-to show” of epic proportions. By delving into the science and the history behind everyday tasks, he attempts to defamiliarize the ubiquitous to increase our appreciation and wonder. From how to pet your dog to how to take a nap, menial tasks require much more brain work than you can imagine. Catch a glimpse into the molecular level of the thought process here: http://esq.tv/1ZJ5JZR

Don’t miss a speck of the network’s first scripted series “Spotless” beginning Saturday, November 14th at 10pm ET/PT. Starring Marc-André Grondin (“C.R.A.Z.Y.”), Denis Ménochet (“Inglourious Basterds”), Miranda Raison (“24: Live Another Day”) and Brendan Coyle (“Downton Abbey”) the dark and irreverent drama delivers a bold and sexy performance that’s laced with dark humor and set in London. “Spotless” explores the story of a troubled man, Jean Bastiere (Grondin) whose life is turned upside down when his outlaw brother, Martin (Ménochet), crash lands into his world. Played out against the backdrop of Jean’s crime scene cleaning business, the brothers must confront dark sins of the past and very real dangers in the present. Ensnared by mob boss Nelson Clay (Coyle), corruption, drugs and death pose a constant hazard. With Jean’s wife Julie (Raison), the entire family struggles to gain control over their lives and future. For a sneak peek, put your gloves on because it might get messy: http://bit.ly/1LSz3co

In honor of what would have been the late Bruce Lee’s 75th birthday, Esquire will be airing a special “Black Belt Friday” marathon Friday, November 27th from 11:30am to 8:00pm ET/PT. Featuring a selection of the legend’s best work, films will include: “The Big Boss” (11:30 AM ET/PT), “Fists of Fury” (1:30 PM ET/PT), “The Way of the Dragon” (3:30 PM ET/PT) and “Game of Death” (5:30 PM ET/PT). Instead of rushing to the stores on Black Friday, kick back, relax and enjoy the best of Bruce Lee.”

What do you think? Do you watch the Esquire Network? Will you be watching any of their new series?
