Fear the Walking Dead is in the middle of its second season on AMC, and fans have noticed the difference between the spin-off and the original series of The Walking Dead – not all fans love the difference either.
According to TV Line, Dave Erickson spoke about the reason for the differences between the two shows. He said that The Walking Dead has “a huge fan base to whom we are incredibly grateful, and we obviously want to deliver a story that everybody loves. But at the same time, we wanted to make sure that our characters didn’t embrace the tropes [of the genre].”
As for the plot of the series, the characters have only started their journey. Erickson revealed that the characters on Fear the Walking Dead are barely reaching the point where Rick woke up in Atlanta. That happened six years ago in the world of The Walking Dead. Erickson said the following:
“If you marked off the days [that have passed on air since Fear TWD debuted], I think right now, by the end of the first half [of Season 2], we’re getting very close to Rick waking up in Georgia’ on The Walking Dead, he continues. Only now have Fear TWD’s survivors ‘arrived at a place where they’re up to speed on how one deals with the apocalypse and the dead.’”
When the series returns, fans will see more drama. Are you a fan of Fear the Walking Dead? Do you enjoy the slower pace of the series? Tell us what you think.
