Perhaps because ABC owns General Hospital outright, the network sometimes doesn’t announce if their sole surviving soap opera has been renewed for another season. (They didn’t make an announcement about the 2016-17 season.) Of course, they’d certainly let us know if the show had been cancelled. Will GH survive to see a 55th season (2017-18)? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.

when they start writing storyline about sam looseing her mind i say its time to wrap things up. it needs to end badly

Sorry but the writers at GH have annoyed me one too many times. They bring in great characters but never give them a chance to grow and then get rid of them. The revolving door is making me dizzy. If Steve Burton returns as Jason, I am done which I find hard to believe since I have been watching since Jeff/Heather/Diana days. The story lines are just too ridiculous and out there (and I survived Casey the Alien)
I agree with you. Now Jason will be dead again … how disappointing and rediculous of the writers to do this. I won’t be watching GH anymore. Too dark of a story line!

I like General Hospital and so does my Mom, who doesn:t miss a show. Please renew except for the following characters- Lulu, Nicolas (the kid) and Maxie. These actors script characters are not likeable and make the show painful to watch. The actors themselves, I’m sure, are great people, but their storylines and characters are not.

I just started watching again a year ago after probably a 15 year hiatus. It took no time to get addicted again. I love it.

Actually torn as to whether or not the show should receive cancellation. I’ve watched from the crib off and on since October ’63. Stopped watching during the Ice Princess and WSB days. My absolute favorite era was during the Wendy Riche and Clair Labine era…that was when GH was at it’s BEST and MUST see TV! Stopped watching when it became the GH Sopranos. Please tell ABC they can upload General Hospital daily on YouTube live and leave in all commercials!!! No one can fast forward; it’s better than their paid app. People are not buying cable TV. They can’t afford $200 a month for it. Please tell them they would have more viewers!!! I have watched GH since 1964!!! I’d freak if it left me. I love it way too much!!!! I love the storyline but can Sam please be happy? Please keep Carly and Sonny married!!!
