Insecure is premiering on HBO on October 9, and the network has now released a new preview showing off the new series. The comedy was created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore.
HBO released the following about the series in a recent press statement:
“Modern-day black women are usually portrayed as strong, confident and “flawless.” But Issa and Molly are definitely not “killing it.” These best friends must deal with their own real-life flaws as they attempt to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences.”

I will definitely watch! My hope is that some of the difficult issues facing Black women (and by extension- the Black Community) are addressed seriously and do not add to the prevailing negative stereotypes. #drilldowntothecore
