In its move toward an “edgier” brand, last year, TNT ended its most watched drama, Rizzoli & Isles. Prior to the Major Crimes TV show’s sixth season premiere, the cable network followed its own lead and announced it would be the final season for this now most-watch show. Since we don’t have to wonder if it is cancelled or renewed, why track the ratings during Major Crimes‘ sixth and final season on TNT? Well, it keeps us out of trouble, but also, the ratings provide a benchmark against which we can assess other TV shows, so stay tuned.
A TNT crime drama and spinoff of The Closer, starring Kyra Sedgwick, Major Crimes stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, Jonathan Del Arco, Leonard Roberts, Jessica Meraz and Daniel di Tomasso. Jon Tenney, Ransford Doherty, Kathe Mazur, Rene Rosado, Dawnn Lewis, and Bill Brochtrup recur.
In season six, the Major Crimes storyline is more serialized. The squad is now struggling to solve mysteries and murders amidst political conflicts. While Commander Sharon Raydor (McDonnell) grows accustomed to her new boss, the detectives question the justice system’s changing priorities. They will also learn to accept all kinds of risks, as they ready themselves for the imminent return of Phillip Stroh (Billy Burke).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
