canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Season Two Ratings

Published: May 13, 2015

Marvels Agents of SHIELD TV show on ABC: latest ratingsLast fall, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD looked like a sure-fire hit. While the season’s ratings were positive, the ABC execs certainly expected a lot better. Will the numbers rise in season two and lead to a third season or, could this show be cancelled if the ratings fall lower? Stay tuned.

On Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) has been appointed Director and has been tasked with rebuilding the agency. Who can he trust? The rest of the cast includes Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/8 update: This series has been renewed for a third season on ABC.

Final season averages: 1.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.47 million total viewers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

What do you think? Do you still like the Agents of SHIELD TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a third season?

Its this simple. If you like it, watch it. If you dont, dont. Theres no reason to complain. Just dont watch it. Its not like complaining HERE is going to make any difference. Theres a myriad of issues that arise when trying to make a show like this. The biggest one is trying to keep it mild and PC enough for kids, but still have enough death and destruction for the 18+ crowd. This show also has to compete with the blockbuster movies. That makes everyones expectations really high. As far as the writing and movie comparisons, the show has… Read more »

I started watching the show in the first season, but it’s just too Josh Whedon-ish, with cutesy over intensity. Too many of the episodes had neatly contained story lines with very little ongoing storyline. I checked out about midway through, but was informed it got good near the end – and it did. The ‘betrayal’ was great, and the final few episodes were very intense. But it took only a single episode of Season 2 to see that the writers were going back to their old ways, and going with a problem of the week procedural instead of an interesting… Read more »

I think the show would be better on the sci-fi network and get a larger user base. it cannot compete on ABC network with all the politics and dumb mind melting shows that taint america today. It sucks that they cant take into account a lot of the users that watch the show off of pirate streaming sites because it is A LOT. More people have internet and use those sites rather than pay extra to have a T.V. bill i.m.o.

Graf, I certainly do agree with you about the number of people who now watch their favorite television programs online. I do, and almost all of my friends now do the same.

I have to admit, the show stunk at the beginning of last season, but it really became 1000% better towards the end and beginning of this season. Now, it’s my favorite tv series on right now, and I’d be totally bummed if it gets cancelled… I’m so annoyed it didn’t start this way when it had so many peoples attention. Now, it’s a major risk of getting kicked off the air…. Ironic part is, I never watch tv series and the 1st 1 I’m getting into is probably going to get cancelled… 🙁

Couldn’t agree more Lady Sif, this show has really gotten really good, but keeps bleeding ratings. Now I’m worried they will cancel it right when it finally picks up some steam. I guess my only hope is Marvel has some sway at ABC to keep this going to help cross-promote their movies. I’ll be as the next Avenger’s movie gets closer and closer the ratings on this show will increase.. It would be interesting to see if they used this show to promote Avengers like the place where you can see the world premiere of the teaser trailer or have… Read more »

Lady Sif is one of the many reason why I’ve never even watched the show. I can only take so much “I am woman hear me roar” in shows/movies

Don’t get stuck watching this crappy show specially if what you say is true that this is your 1st tv series to watch. Try Game of thrones, blacklist, The walking dead 🙂

I think some people on this thread are lame saying not to watch this show. Yes we have other sci-fi shows, but nothing like a childhood comic brought to life on the mainstream side. Walking dead does suck, i prefer Falling Skies, just because i hate the whole over played zombie aspect of human survival concepts. As far as Game of Thrones, yes it was a great show, however they mushed up so much in the last season that it ruined the whole series with half-assed answers. There is literally no good cosplay-type tv sereies out there anymore. This show… Read more »

I quite enjoy the show although I have never picked up a comic book in my life. But I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I admit that season 1 should have been handled differently, and maybe should have even been a mini series started a couple months or so before The Winter Soldier, and going a month or two after. It took some patience to get through the first season but I actually at least somewhat enjoyed every episode. I think in order to get more viewers they need to regularly have high profile cameos from characters from the movies.… Read more »

Here is a prediction for Episode 3 : Is Simmons really gone for good and left Fitz because she couldn’t handle it ? Nah , she left to join Hydra out two reasons 1. To infiltrate the hydra’s organization that still very much around 2. To do one or two things : – To find a way to way to cure Fitz – To take revenge on them since they were indirectly responsible for Fitz’s Cucoo Agent Coulson knew the reason behind of Simmons’s leaving And finally, IT’S SO DAMM PREDICTABLE ! Any thoughts ?

Enough with the Hydra sh*t already. The show needs to get rid of that concept quickly because it is overused and boring and it’s also so 1945. I really don’t want this to be the last season. It’s only episode 2 and I’m already lost my interested. I checked out the rating and I am not the only one.

Hey if you read a comic book you would know that hydra actually play a massive part in the marvel universe. Just because it was in captain america one in 1945 doesnt mean it cant go into hiding after the war. And then come out years later in the now… Hydra now is just upgraded and we’re waiting for red skull to return. Imagine how red skull would feel knowing his organisation went to **** after the war and just died out… Especially when their motto is cut off one head two more will take its place… But for it… Read more »

Agents Of Shield Season 2 premiere had higher ratings than 7 of the last 9 episodes from season 1. It was rated higher than the final 3 episodes on season 1. That is an upwards trend. Not sure why so many sites put AOS in it’s crosshairs but they did it with misleading headlines. AOS ratings are rising. Fans are loving the show. Avengers 2 will be doing tie ins with it later this year so it’s going to be rising higher and higher. Bad enough that we get biased and misleading garbage news about politics and big news events.… Read more »

Come on, Robert Downey Jr has had a tv series before, right… Not beneath him… Come on guys, support this is all I’m asking… They had lady sif once…. Just a suggestion to keep the guys interested… I absolutely Love it!!

I know what you mean, but I stuck with it, and with the exception of a few clunkers, the show got far better.
I posted back then that as long as they kept Skye running around, I would continue to watch. Thankfully? The show got better so that was not necessary.
They pumped up the the first episodes cast with a LOT of people, so this will be interesting. Seems they are going to price themselves out of the ballpark with that many people.

If this show keeps bleeding viewers, like it did from last year, nothing can protect the Shield from cancellation. I gave up on it after a few episodes last year.

Most shows bleed users after the first season due to the fact that most users wait for it to hit pirate and non pirate stream mirroring sites so they can watch it all in one run without commercials and suspense.
