Ahead of its May Upfront presentation, NBC has announced it has ordered the Rise TV show to series. Based on the true story of high school drama teacher Lou Volpe, as told in the book, Drama High, Rise hails from from Universal Television, True Jack Productions and Seller Suarez Productions, Jason Katims, and Jeffrey Seller.
The Rise TV series stars How I Met Your Mother vet, Josh Radnor. The NBC cast also includes: Rosie Perez, Marley Shelton, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Amy Forsyth, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Casey Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumierk.
Writer Katims is executive producing with director Mike Cahill. Seller, Michelle Lee, and Flody Suarez also executive produce.

Loved the show and all its characters..really disappointed
I Loved this show. Never missed it. guess its to liberal to have shows about high school students dealing with homosexuality , transgender, abortion, alcohol, sexual relationships, parents, Do we really need another show about gun violence , you can find one of those on every night.

I feel that this was one of the top tv series going. It reveals what teachers, kids, and parent face in life . I cant believe this series got cancelled!

I was a English teacher/drama coach in a small town in Virginia for eight years. The show RISE is absolutely amazing! In my first production, I too was faced with people who had not had anyone who took their real live problems seriously. I too had a backstage guy who I discovered was unsafe in his foster home and my wife and I took him home with us for two years. I too with racial issues in my racially blended cast.
