Does the first season of the Rise TV show on NBC lift your spirits? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Rise is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all of the Rise season one episodes here.
An NBC high school drama, Rise stars Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumier. The series centers on Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor), who is the fictional analogue to Lou Volpe in the Michael Sokolov book, Drama High. Although he is committed to his students at Stanton High School, Lou knows he needs to shake things up, in order to rekindle his passion for teaching. To that end, he petitions to direct the school’s theater program, but soon realizes he signed up for a whole lot more than he originally expected. Soon though, the faculty, student body, and even the town residents find themselves caught up in the new spirit at the school.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Rise TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should NBC cancel or renew Rise for a second season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
5/11/18 update: NBC has cancelled Rise so there won’t be a second season. Details here.
My family and I LOVE this show!!! Something for all of us, from football to theater, plus an absolutely brilliant cast and writers. We can’t wait to sit down and watch RISE together every Tuesday night, our conversations after the show have added so much to our family dynamic. I love that this show takes place in a realistic setting, which conveys what so much of American is experiencing. We need more shows like this that deal with everyday issues that families or struggling with, that don’t live in California, or New York.
The show is literally my life. Please renew or else we’ll all be depressed for a life time
Wonderful show with great acting! We love this show. Please renew
Great show! Please be sure to renew!!!
Having worked in a public high school for many years, it is easy to relate to the “drama” (no pun intended) that goes on between faculty members and busy lives of students trying to participate conflicting activities!!
Excellent show! Love all the relationships! Everyone perfectly cast! Renew! Renew! Renew!
Keep it going, love this show.
Keep it going Love this show.

Thrilled with the 1st episode!! Very “Mr. Holland’s Opus”! I loved the movie and so far, love the show!! Keep it coming!!!
Phenomenal! While a little intense and a bit of an emotional roller coaster, it accurately depicts the experiences of today’s teenagers. This 65 year old says PLEASE don’t cancel!
Keep it going
I taught high school for 31 years and the premiere production brought back so many memories of my career. I was not the “Aunt Minnie on the Farm” director. Rather, I chose plays that had nuts and bolts and truths that teenagers needed to see and learn. I am writing a book, titled “Exit, Stage Left” which tells about the teacher and the students on the high school stage. I would love to share some of my experiences with the producers.
I will be tuning in each week – a darker version of Glee and drama similar to another favorite, Friday Night Lights. Had me wishing it was on Netflix to binge and keep it going!
