Will Strike Back be back for another mission? Recently, stars Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton spoke with TVInsider about the future of the Cinemax TV show.
Winchester and Stapleton play Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott on the action drama, follows the secretive British Defence Intelligence branch Section 20. The season six cast includes Warren Brown, Daniel MacPherson, Roxanne McKee, and Alin Sumarwata.
Winchester and Stapleton left Strike Back after season five but will return for this season’s final two episodes beginning March 30th. But what about the future? Would Winchester and Stapleton return for a seventh season? Winchester says he’s in if Stapleton is:
Cinemax has yet to announced a season seven renewal for Strike Back. The odds seem unlikely since ratings for this season have been low. So far, season six is averaging a .02 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 119,000 viewers.Winchester: It would all depend on Sully. I don’t think we can capture the lightning in a bottle that we had without each other. He’s my buddy. If he was on board, and there was an offer, we’d make it work.
Stapleton: I’m hoping Stonebridge and Scott show up on a lot more missions. [Laughs]”

I would definitely watch. No offense to the season 6 cast, for they are good actors, but Winchester and Stapleton are why I started watching. They have a chemistry together. It would be great to add them to the screen for a season 7. Maybe section 20 has two different teams? I think the ratings would return.

I really like the show, but it hasn’t been the same since the guys left. I watch them on Law & Order SUV & Blindspot, but I’d really like to see them back on strike back.
Return of Stapleton and Winchester would likely bring a return of better ratings.
The Stonebridge/Scott seasons were some of the best action TV I’ve ever seen and the chemistry between the leads was amazing. The current season of SB has been lacking in so many ways….just not the same without Winchester and Sullivan in their roles…..I would love to see them back in the series permanently but that may be impossible since they are currently on successful American TV shows…..I had read at one point that SB producers were considering bringing back Stonebridge and Scott in a feature film…..I liked that idea and hope it will be revisited if (or more likely when)… Read more »

I think all seasons of Strike Back we’re in a class of their own as far as best action TV show. I loved both actors together and their director. I initially bought Cinemax for that show I would watch it anytime .

Season 1-4 was massive. Season 5 wasn’t good ,the main characters lacked some zeal. But if Micheal and scot come back, the rating will rise and am sure the season will kill it.
Missing Scott and Michael the very best! Watched them over and over and still cant get enough of them. Bring them back

Absolutely I would watch season 7 if the Sullivan Stapleton and Phillip winchester returned. I watched every episode for 4 years many times and it was a great show and a great brotherhood that captured what it is like having that brother in arms. This year fell flat, it seemed forced and the characters didn’t work well for me and I lost interest. I hope Cinemax brings back the original two and the ratings will go back to normal again.
