Will there be a second season for The Young Pope TV show on HBO? The lavish political drama series is a co-production of HBO, Canal+, and Sky Atlantic so it’s unclear how much of an impact that HBO’s involvement has on the future of the series. A historical drama, The Young Pope TV series tells the controversial story of Pius XIII (Jude Law), born Lenny Belardo, and his early days as Pope. The youngest and first American pope in history, his ascension was orchestrated by the Vatican Secretary of State (Silvio Orlando). Lenny shuns him and looks to Don Tommaso (Marcello Romolo) to share details on the motives of those in his inner circle. Lenny’s mentor (James Cromwell) stews about being passed over and his friend since childhood, Sister Mary (Diane Keaton), is flown in to serve as his chief advisor. The rest of the HBO cast includes Javier Cámara, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Ludivine Sagnier, and Toni Bertorelli.

I Love it Jude Law is fascinating, and amazing to say the least. I will love to have the season renewal again please. I wait in anticipation for the season to come back.
My husband and I are hooked on this show. It is weird in an intriguing way. It has shock value with its “oh my gosh” moments. Jude Law is perfect in this role. I wonder if he is Catholic? The dialogue is quite thought-provoking and even relevant to current morality or lack thereof. Sometimes I am confused but I have learned to wait and everything will become clear. This is actually a part of the draw for this show… you just rarely can predict what is coming next. I hope it continues!
Unusual twists and turns, but never the way Hollywood trained us to expect. Love the subtle humor of the show, and the Vatican as if taking a ride on electrical guitar straight into cosmos to find the divine.
I was fascinated with the series. I must admit part of the fascination was sparked by Pope Francis and the surprisingly conservative character played by Jude Law. BTW, I haven’t ever seen a pope be a fashion leader. But Pius XIII is a stunner!

At first I didn’t know what to make of this show. As the show got to the end I finally got it. Very intrigued on what could happen on the 2nd season.
This is a magnificent production!! Please, we need a continuation of The Young Pope!! Jude Law is outstanding in his portrayl. I find, as a Catholic, it is mentally stimulating and challenging. Challenges of the spirit that all people are faced with..even Pius. It’s touching, heartfelt and thought provoking. It gives all of us a mirror to reflect on our own shortcomings. I love and respect Pius even tho he makes us toe the line and reflect, whether you agree with him or not. He is the modern day Christ returned. Excellent series!!
Yes, Please continue production of “The Young Pope”. Such a wonderful show HBO. True to form, with up to date issues the church is dealing with.
I love the episode where the Papal Tiara, not worn since Pope Paul 6, and is still in Washington, was flown in and used, ( I’m sure it was a replica, but a damn good one) And the reaction of all the Cardinals was priceless!!
We want more of the wonderful show.
