Andi Mack,” a series hailed for inspiring social change, returns with its final episodes every Friday beginning JUNE 21 through JULY 26 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Two episodes will be presented on Friday, June 21.
Creator and executive producer Terri Minsky said, “‘Andi Mack’ was a labor of love for a room of impassioned, inventive writers, a talented and dedicated crew, and an extraordinary, miraculous cast who inspired us all. We had the honor of breaking a lot of new ground for Disney Channel. We were its first serialized show, its first series centered around an Asian American family, and its first to feature an LGBTQ character who spoke the words ‘I’m gay.’ But the best part of making ‘Andi Mack’ was our audience, who let us know we mattered to them. The series finale is for them.”
Gary Marsh, president, Disney Channel, said, “Three years ago, we challenged Terri Minsky to create a new series that expanded and broadened the Disney Channel brand. And so was born ‘Andi Mack.’ We are forever grateful to Terri, her talented team and the outstanding cast, led by Peyton Elizabeth Lee, for delivering a meaningful and satisfying conclusion to three wonderful seasons of this brilliant series.”
Year to-date, “Andi Mack” is Disney Channel’s most-watched series overall and its highest-rated among Kids 6-14. It is also the recipient of a Television Academy Honor, a GLAAD Media Award, a U.S. Asia Institute honor, the Common Sense Media Seal for Quality Family Programming and a Peabody Award nomination.
“Andi Mack” stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee as the title character, Lilan Bowden as Rebecca “Bex” Mack, Lauren Tom as Celia Mack, Joshua Rush as Cyrus Goodman, Sofia Wylie as Buffy Driscoll, Asher Angel as Jonah Beck and Trent Garrett as Bowie.
“Andi Mack” was created and is executive produced by Terri Minsky (“Lizzie McGuire”) and also executive produced by Michelle Manning (“The Breakfast Club,” Disney Channel Original Movies “Adventures in Babysitting” and “Teen Beach 2”). Phil Baker (Disney Channel’s “Good Luck Charlie”) is co-executive producer.
The series is produced by Horizon Productions, filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and carries a TV-G parental guideline.”
What do you think? Does your family watch Andi Mack? Are you sad it’s ending?
I have no idea why they would cancel this show; but it is watched in our home by not only the kids but the adults. The stories they cover relate to update/current situations and explained well. Why can’t they get rid of some other horrible Disney Shows.
I am not happy that the show is ending. If it is so popular why are they ending it. I hope they reconsider.
SO sad to see that Andy Mack is being cancelled, I really enjoyed watching this series every Friday with my niece. it one of the BEST shows on Disney today. how about getting rid of BUNK’D instead..
This show is perfect for these days. My daughters of 14 and 9 made it a weekly must see. I loved that the episodes stirred conversations between me and my girls about issues and things around them. Sad to see this show cancelled. A true gem going away.
This is ********.
I have a strong feeling that Andi Mack being cancelled has everything to do with the actor that played Ham/Pops. That’s a real shame, they should keep the show going and just explain his absence for the show as a death.
Being a Mother having last my Mom 2 year’s ago, it would have been a good thing for my son’s and myself to share and talk about. The Disney Channel is really messing up with this, and I felt the same way with Girl Meets World.
My 12 year old daughter and I love Andi Mack. It was a great way for us to talk about life issues and to bond. We are really going to miss the show.
Well, all I have to do now is wait until the re-runs die down until this hot mess of a show is out of my mind.
Maybe Andi Mack was written for young children, but there are two old people who liked it! Maybe because there are so many unfit shows on television now!
My 11 year old daughter is disappointed somewhat. The only thing she was concerned about was Cyrus, since he admitted he was gay, she was hoping it wouldn’t go any further than it did.
My granddaughter is very upset this program is coming to an end… my husband and I record and watch the episodes with her. We have fallen in love ourselves with this program and very upset it has been cancelled. We all looked very forward each week to the next episode.
Hopefully you will have a change of heart and are able to keep this wonderful program on the air for another three seasons!
I’m saddened of the news that Andi Mack has been canceled if any other TV show had to be cancelled why Andi Mack there are thousands of people who want Andi Mack back on let’s start a petition to get Andi Mack back on TV you don’t know what that you’ll means to a lot of people please don’t take it away take some other garbage off TV that doesn’t deserve to be on Andi Mack needs to be on for children and adults that love them to death hopefully Andi Mack will be back on I’m a B-52 but… Read more »
I am the age of a grandma & have loved watching Andi Mack since it began 2 years ago. I am sad that it’s ending. It’s a terrific show & the actors are fantastic! Why would Disney end this show after only 2 years & 3 seasons? Disney should not end Andi Mack!!!
A truly great series. I am a 50 year old white Father husband, grandfather and started watching this wonderful series with my grandchildren.
I was hoping Andi Mack would last through the high school years to give my grands an example of good tv but all good things must end.
So sad to hear of this show ending ! Why does Disney cancel all the good shows ?
Problem is, this isn’t one of them.
Maybe not to you but you are clearly in the minority. Year to-date, “Andi Mack” is Disney Channel’s most-watched series overall.
I may be in the minority, but that doesn’t mean the minority has the wrong opinion. This show has all the factors that make Disney sitcoms fail nowadays. If you don’t agree, that’s fine.
Also, I seriously doubt that this is Disney’s most-watched show.
