The CW has quarantined Containment for good. TVLine reports the network has cancelled the new drama after one season.
The series followed a group of people affected by a mysterious epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta. David Gyasi, Christina Moses, Chris Wood, Kristen Gutoskie, Claudia Black, George Young, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, and Trevor St. John starred.
The drama, which was billed as a limited series, premiered in April to weak ratings. So far, the series is averaging only .51 in the 18-49 demo with 1.5 million viewers.

From the commercials I thought this was a mini-series, from what I understand that means it won’t have a second season. But then that’s what they said about Wayward Pines and they got a second season.
It figures. As usual the top quality and most engaging shows such as CONTAINMENT is being canceled. *sigh*. SO TIRED of the good shows being buried early. You invest your time and emotions in a worthwhile program…, and then they take it away. It’s to the point where I don’t want to invest my time in any programs anymore because of this. This Show is fantastic and I think it is a mistake to cancel it
I have been enjoying this. It makes a change from the Zombies and Vampires at least. (nothing wrong with Z’s and V’s, just nice to have something different).
So sad to see it has been cancelled. Perhaps a different time slot would have been better for it?
I’m considering stopping watching this whole network.. They are cancelling the only good show that they air. Smh hope they lose a lot of viewers and their ratings go down because of this.
My whole family loves the show Containment!!! It’s a great series with a great plot! So sad it’s being cancelled.
This show is great as are the main characters and actors. I want to spend more time with them and see how their stories progress. I’m sorry it won’t be coming back, but l have to say it can be hard to watch at times because it is so real – unlike TWD and GoT. I hope to see these actors on other shows.
Disappointed Containment was canceled !! My whole family gathers to watch. We get excited just like when “TWD” is on. We are tired of reality shows that are so fake and watch the news. We were really captured by this program. Reconsider !!
I love this show so much Its actually my favorite show right now & I just started watching it today. I’m all caught up now & obsessed. I went to like the page on FB when I found out it was being canceled This really sucks. I’m i love with Containment & their canceling that amazing show for other certain other shows that don’t even compare. If they really are canceling Containment.. they’re breaking my heart
My friends and I were just saying “Finally! CW is playing a “Movie” type show and we’re all into it! Honestly it’s the one show I watch on the network other than the news in the morning. This move is kind of dim to me. The network is full of “gimmicky” or “novelty” type shows! Why end this one that’s leaving us wanting more?!? Bad move!
I can’t believe there’s no season 2 for Containment! Please reconsider and renew it for another season it’s such a Good series.

It was confirmed by several sites covering this show, that the producers did not intend to have this show go ‘beyond’ season 1. This was a short, season long ‘mini-series’. Whether another series could be created that could ‘connect’ this show with another entitled ‘Contagion’ would be a great idea, and I would even go as far as to say “Let Netflix or HBO pick up the rights to this story, and do something with it. It is ‘clear’ that ‘Containment’ has a large enough fan base to support a season 2, much less, many more seasons after that.
