It’s been less than three years since the cast of Frasier said their final goodbye to Seattle. The cast was particularly close knit so its no surprise that there’s already some talk of a reunion.
The cast are all keeping busy these days and by chance, the three former Crane men were all performing in the Big Apple at the same time. Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) recently starred as Professor Henry Higgins in a concert version of My Fair Lady with the New York Philharmonic. David Hyde Pierce (Niles) is currently starring in the Broadway musical Curtains, after a run in Spamelot. And, after 20 years away, John Mahoney (Martin) is back on the Broadway stage in a production of Prelude to a Kiss.
Of course Grammer, Pierce and Mahoney, who are still good friends, took the opportunity to get together. Did the subject of a Frasier reunion come up? “Absolutely, we talked about it,” Pierce says. “We got together and had breakfast and all we talked about is what plays we might do together.” Pierce says a reunion onstage would likely be a play rather than a musical. He continued, “We were only talking about plays because we are all getting on in years and there is only so much dancing you can do.”
Let’s hope that they (and Jan Leeves and Peri Gilpin) can find a theatre project to do together real soon. Or better yet, how about a new Star Trek series? They have had some practice after all…
Please lets have another series of Frasier or a reunion film, I love watching it, the cast are brilliant actors.
I LOVE Frasier re-runs, and I sure do wish they would bring back a reunion show!
I was an cast member as Klion in 1980’s in STAR TREK
I was so depressed after Law and Order Trial By Jury was dropped.
I am so upset about wedding bells. I love that show, if rating are low on Friday’s, why not put it on a more popular night. Stop taking all the good shows off TV.
