Eddie Huang may not be crazy about Fresh Off the Boat but ABC is happy to have it on their schedule. The network has renewed the new sitcom for a second season.
Based on a memoir by Huang, Fresh Off the Boat revolves around a Taiwanese family that moves from Chinatown in Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida. They open a steak restaurant and experience serious culture shock while pursuing the American Dream. The family members are played by Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler, and Ian Chen.
The sitcom has performed well for ABC on Tuesday nights, giving the network a foothold in what’s been a challenging night for them. It’s also been one of the current season’s most diverse shows. The first season ended up averaging a 1.73 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.75 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Fresh Off the Boat TV series? Do you have a favorite character?
so degrading show not worth watching after seeing it for the first time. i stopped watching.
I love this show! The whole premise of the show just works for me. The Huang family and how they all work together and coexist despite 6 very different, distinct personalities, breaking the mold by having a Taiwanese character actor, Louis, own an American themed restaraunt, the setting of the 90’s decade is a great ‘flashback’ and the comments made from time to time by Jessica or Louis make you say, “Did they really just say that?!?” This a show you have to really listen to as well as watch. Great job and I look forward to watching every episode!
I love this show… thank god it has been renewed!
This is a great show. I especially love Constance Wu’s acting, but really all of the actors do a great job. I’m looking forward to season 2. 🙂
Luv it!!!! Keep it!
