Last season, once again, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital would return for another year. They haven’t cancelled the show either so, as long as it stays on the air, perhaps no news is good news. Will GH survive to see a 56th season (2018-19)? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Vinessa Antoine, Maurice Benard, Steve Burton, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Hayley Erin, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Chloe Lanier, Lisa LoCicero, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Anthony Montgomery, Ryan Paevey, Emme Rylan, Michelle Stafford, Kirsten Storms, Donnell Turner, Robert Palmer Watkins, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.

Note: ABC aired reruns on August 29, 30, and 31. The lower ratings for those airings were included in the demo average for the week of August 27 so we are omitting it so as not to throw off the season average.
For comparisons: The 2016-17 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.55 million total viewers.

I love GH, I am 21 and I have been watching GH for over 4 years now and I love it, I think younger generation doesn’t even know what Soaps are like and don’t appreciate it and unlike other shows, GH never gets old or boring and there are more than one of two main characters so you can always find a character that you relate to ( Sam and Alexis ❣️ )and every episode talks about something new and interesting.
Please please please dont cancle this show! I’ve been watching the show for 45+years. I love the fact that I can watch it on Hulu. haven’t missed a single episode in years
Get rid of the dead weights..like sm. ugggg.avas. Bro. Ugggg. Put Jason wto th Nina. Spice it up…Sam is of no use to anyone.. she does not even spend time with her kids…you never see them..Jason deserves a real love like Nina. Sunny’s dad…enough. Is enough…get rid of some people and spice it up?Alexis is useless. Diane is fantastic ! Then the show will last. Everyone is tired of the same dull cast. And. Fashion son. Get rid of him also !!!! Bring back happiness to the show.
I think they’re doing an excellent job with Sony’s dad and what Alzheimers can look like, and I am loving the way they are portraying proper and adequate ways of dealing with the disease.

I am 69 years old and General Hospital has become part of my family. I can’t wait to watch it especially Jason. He is a hunk with those blue eyes. They have an interesting plot line and they are giving viewers topics that are relevant to what is happening in the world today. I am begging you to not cancel the only soap I have watched for 40 years.
I would like to see Jason with a real woman..someone new…Sam is useless..you can never go back. Maybe Nina???
I am 71 and would like to be counted in the ratings! I started watching when I was a new young mother! Now that I am retired and have 4 wonderful granddaughters, I enjoy watching the show daily, now that I can record the episodes, I do so that O won’t miss a single epidode!please don’t cancel this show! It is so much fun and interesting to watch! I much prefer this to the reality shows that have been cropping up!
I love General Hospital! I’ve been watching it for 50 years! I do wish that Ryan Paevy was still on the show, but I still love the show! Please don’t cancel it!

I would like to see it on as I have been watching for at least 36 years; starting at the age of 15. I would be devastated if this show was every canceled.
