MacGyver: Season Three; Has George Eads Left the CBS TV Show?

by Jessica Pena, January 22, 2019

MacGyver TV show on CBS: (canceled or renewed?)

Is somebody leaving the MacGyver team? TVLine reports star George Eads may be leaving the CBS TV show.

Eads plays Jack Dalton on the action reboot series, which follows a young Angus MacGyver (Lucas Till). The cast also includes Tristin Mays, Justin Hires, and Meredith Eaton.

According to TVLine, Eads will appear in at least one more episode of MacGyver’s third season, but it is unclear if the actor will return to the CBS series.

Earlier, we reported that Eads would be leaving the show after the current season but no reason was given. Now, TVLine says the actor asked to be released from his contract after an incident on set.

As of reporting, we know Eads will appear in the February 1st episode of MacGyver. See below for a synopsis:

An international crime boss offers Matty a deal she can’t refuse – he’ll surrender himself into her custody if he’s allowed to return to the United States to watch his daughter walk down the aisle. MacGyver and team crash the wedding to ensure the crime lord doesn’t run, only to discover they’re not the only ones lying in wait at the event.”

What do you think? Do you watch MacGyver? Will you keep watching if Eads leaves?

I think MacGyver was awesome with Jack (George), HOWEVER now that it’s 2 guys & 4 women doing a secret CIA-FBI-DELTA FORCE type show, it’s just not a good fit. It doesn’t make sense any more. Jack was funny, he had history with Angus, Jack & Angus WERE THE SHOW. They lost our fanclub for sure. IF Jack wasn’t going to return, they should have replaced his character with someone similar @ the MINIMUM!
The Casting director needs to be fired.

Yes, my family will continue to watch even if Dalton is gone. It won’t quite be the same, but so far the rest of the cast is pulling it off well without him.

I will definitely keep watching the show. Now all the more. G. Eads was quite ok as Dalton but he is totally expendable. And what George Eads is about I am totally disappointed. He used to be a good actor but that’s probably over, because he’s not a professional. Leaving the show just because she is no longer shooting in Los Angeles is unprofessional. And now he’s shooting a war movie in Korea, but he’s not in Los Angeles, or am I wrong? So for me it is clear MacGyver is much better off without him and the series can… Read more »
