Major things are happenings on Modern Family. Co-creator Christopher Lloyd told EW a significant character will leave the ABC TV show during its upcoming 10th season.
The hit sitcom revolves around three Los Angeles families who are interrelated through Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) and his adult children, Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). The cast also includes Sofía Vergara, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Jeremy Maguire.
In the interview, Lloyd revealed a major character will die during Modern Family‘s 10th season:
We’re handling some bigger life events in this season. We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.”
Of course, Lloyd would not say who the character in question is, so fans will have to find out when the new season premieres on ABC on September 26th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
