As some of its scripted programming has floundered, in the last couple of years, ABC has been beefing up its non-scripted slate. In addition to the new docu-series The Last Defense, the network has also introduced The Proposal TV show, from The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss. Without “bachelor” in the title, will the first season fare as well in the Neilsen ratings race, as other Fleiss shows? Will The Proposal be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An ABC dating reality TV series, The Proposal is hosted by Jesse Palmer, with Ellen K announcing. In each episode, matchmakers select contestants, who then progress through “pageant-style” elimination rounds. When only two remain, the mystery suitor is revealed, in order to make a romantic proposal.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
8/28/18 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). They are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
