SWAT is coming to the small screen. Deadline reports CBS has ordered a new TV series pilot based on the 2003 film.
Originally based on the 1975 series from Aaron Spelling, the action drama will follow “a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a highly-trained unit that is the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.” The movie adaptation starred Samuel L. Jackson. Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, and LL Cool J.
The CBS pilot comes from The Shield‘s Shawn Ryan, Neal H. Moritz, Justin Lin, and Aaron Rahsaan Thomas. Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios are producing.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the movie SWAT? Would you watch the TV show?
While I would love to see something that was an accurate portrail of what teams actually do like the prior show Flashpoint I fear this will just be another opportunity for Hollyweird to brand all cops as stupid, brutal and corrupt. It has been impossible for Hollywood to produce an honest view of policing or to even have a “police” hero that is not somehow flawed.
Oh hell yes I love that movie.. And all the actors
Rush hour…..Training Day…and now Swat….BRING IT ON (( CBS ))
