SWAT has some new company. Deadline reports Jay Harrington (pictured), Lina Esco, and Kenny Johnson have joined the CBS series pilot.
Originally based on the 1975 series from Aaron Spelling, the action drama will follow “a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a highly-trained unit that is the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.” A 2003 movie adaptation starred Samuel L. Jackson. Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, and LL Cool J.
Harrington has been cast as David “Deacon” Kay, a veteran SWAT officer who’s been given a chance lead his own squad. Esco will play Chris, “a skilled officer and exceedingly calm under pressure” and Johnson has been cast as “Luca, the team’s expert driver and a skilled combat officer himself.” They join fellow castmember Shemar Moore.
What do you think? Have you seen the movie SWAT? Would you watch the CBS series?
If they continue with the story line of dating an engaged soon to be married couple I am done watching this show. I enjoyed watching until then. Very sad to write a story that goes against the sanctity of marriage
Can’t wait to see Shemar Moore again! With him in it I know it will be a big hit.
cannot wait for the show to come on keep trying to find when it will be wish Hotchner and Morgan had not left Criminal Minds but things change cant wait for Swat Thank you Most everything we watch is CBS
Sounds interesting…will give it a look.
Going from Criminal minds being a BAU FBI Agent Mr. Moore I would say has taken a reduction in pay and stature to became a LA SWAT officer.. This of course takes into consideration that this SWAT Unit will be working LA’s Special Crimes UNIT
