After serving as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos for many years, Tom Bergeron left the venerable ABC program last season. Alfonso Ribeiro is the new host and the producers have an opportunity to shake things up a bit. Will a new host bring an upturn in the ratings or will they continue to fall? Will AFV be renewed for a 27th season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

Last year comparison: The 25th season of AFV averaged a 1.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.14 million total viewers.

I don’t think Alfonso has the cutting edge for AFV. He is not original and looks like he is faking it. He has what it take for special hosting events but not for our Americans beloved show AFV. Tom was a super star natural that just seems he breath laughter & energy. My family watches the re-runs on “Up” network! I don’t even bother watching the new one now! That’s a shame!
Our family loves AFV….please don’t cancel. Who doesn’t miss Tom, but we like Alfonso just fine!
Alfonzo is not funny. Tom had a knack for being as funny or funnier than the clips. Haven’t watched much after Alfonzo premiered. To those who think YouTube is better, I think AFV survives because the format allows the family to gather ’round the TV to be presented with videos and professional commentary, much like the variety shows of the past. Inclusion of the studio audience in the show is key as well. Combined with the Sunday evening slot, it’s perfect for families.
Wait, AFV is STILL going? I thought it was cancelled years ago. ABC is beating a dead horse with a stick keeping this obsolete show on the air. It’s all about YouTube now.
Our family has stopped watching. Alfonso is a terrible host. He is cheesy, tries way too hard and isn’t funny. We instead, watch reruns of afv that we recorded on the DVR or what we find on netflix. Replace carleton!!
Love AFV, but….you tried Alfonso for a season. Now it’s time to move on. He tries too hard and it isn’t working.
I hope this reaches the correct people. As a kid, I grew up watching fresh prince of bel aire and was excited to hear that Alfonso Ribeiro was taking over for Tom Bergeron. Now that is a difficult task no matter who it would be because by far Tom has been the best host in the program’s history and no matter who came next would be sure to fail. Could not have said it better myself. We love AFV, I would be sad to see it canceled. But I cannot watch this season because he is just too painful. Hope they can find the right fit so our family can keep enjoying this show together!
I think alphonso ribero was a horrible choice to take over this show. He’s lame, boring,has no personality and not funny. Bad choice, I stopped watching long ago after ,first (15) minutes of episode #1.

I think that Alonso needs to bring it down as an M.C. His delivery is cheesy and fake. I love the clips. They are hillarious.

The worst part is the horrible 1980’s appearance they’ve failed at splashing all over the show…. it’s god(doesnt exist) aweful
The show (AFV) with the new host is absolutely painful to watch. The new host is just awful. Not funny and not talented enough to carry the show. Tom Bergeron is a hard act to follow. We really miss him. We will not be able to watch AFV until they get a host we can stand to watch.
