What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the HBO premium channel, Crashing stars Pete Holmes, Lauren Lapkus, and George Basil. In season one, Dave Attell, Hannibal Burress, Artie Lange, T.J. Miller, Jim Norton, Rachael Ray, and Sarah Silverman guest star as themselves. The half-hour comedy series follows Pete (Holmes), a sheltered suburbanite who married his childhood sweetheart and dreams of being a successful stand-up comic. When Pete discovers his wife Jessica (Lapkus) is cheating on him, his world unravels. After reevaluating his priorities, he plunges into the deep end of the rough-and-tumble New York comedy scene. Holmes created the series and executive produces with Judd Apatow.
Season One Ratings
Based on the ratings alone, Crashing doesn’t seem to be doing very well for HBO but, the pay cable channel doesn’t make decisions based on ratings alone. My gut tells me that Crashing isn’t very expensive to create so, even if it doesn’t seem to garner much interest, the HBO execs may renew it for a second season anyway. 3/15 update: I’m glad I made other dinner plans. The Crashing TV show has been renewed for season two. Details here.
