Criminal Minds is getting ready for its end. A double episode series finale will air next Wednesday night, and CBS has now released details about both episodes for viewers of the series. Fans should expect some characters that departed the series to return for the big send-off.
CBS shared the following details about the episodes:
“Face Off” – It has been a year since Rossi nearly died at the hands of Everett Lynch, a.k.a. “The Chameleon,” and he has developed some new theories, with inspiration from his former partner, Jason Gideon (Ben Savage). The BAU team sets out on an epic hunt to capture Lynch, in the cliff-hanger to the series finale episode of CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Feb. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“And in the End” – Following an explosive face-to-face encounter with Everett Lynch, a.k.a. “The Chameleon,” Dr. Reid suffers from a brain injury and, while experiencing hallucinations, is visited by ghosts from his past. Also, the BAU makes a shocking discovery about Lynch that affects Rossi personally, and the entire BAU team comes together to celebrate Rossi’s retirement, on the series finale of CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Feb. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Written by executive producer Erica Messer and series star Kirsten Vangsness.
Currently, the series averages 4.623 million viewers an episode.

Yes, I am very sad Criminal Minds is ending! I still watch all the previous episodes on other TV channels. I loved Thomas Gibson & Shemar Moore & am sad they left. This is the best crime show to ever be on TV!!!!! It would be great for me & all the other fans if you decided to keep the show on – we all love it!!!! So many other shows don’t compare to Criminal Minds!!!!
This is the best crime show ever!!! I absolutely love the actors in this show and I am very sad to see it come to an end! I have watched every single episode from season 1 and still watch the reruns also because it’s just the best show ever!!! Really wish the show could go on to new seasons!!!

for some reason they keep focusing on Matthew Simmons, giving him more of a story line, I wonder if they’re going to try another spin off starring him
I have watched it from the episode 1, season 1 through all the cast changes and I still love it. The cast is like family. I will miss it and them more than I can say. When it ends, I will pour myself a scotch put some Dino or Johnny Mathis on the turntable, set some funky toys beside my keyboard and toast to the end of a championship series. Thanks guys for 15 wonderful years.
Idk how to live without Reid, Garcia, JJ, Rossi and Prentiss in my life. My entire adult life I have watched them every week. It’s gonna be very sad to see them go.
I’m sad to see it end. I love this show/series, the characters and the way that you feel like you know and feel a part of each and every one of them. I will miss it terribly
