Perhaps because ABC owns General Hospital outright, the network sometimes doesn’t announce if their sole surviving soap opera has been renewed for another season. However, they’d certainly let us know if the show had been cancelled! Since the soap is still airing, we can assume they renewed it for 2015-16. Will GH survive to see a 54th season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Renew never cancel . If u cancel it would really suck been watching since 1970 Carter’s come and go and sometimes they even come back to life . But it still is a good one to watch if I miss I catch up on demand .Was sad to see one life to live get canceled.

I pray that GH will be renewed for another 50+ years. I loved all the ABC soaps and was very disappointed when the others were cancelled; however I was glad that General Hospital was still on. Now I’m worried especially after today’s episode and hearing Monica say they have to close GH. Reminds me of when OLTL went off the air. PLEASE SAY IT AIN’T SO!
I would love to see it renewed,I live and breath to see Maurice Bernard,when he leaves,that’s when the show is over!!!! 🙂

I love GH and of the 4 soaps left I think it is the best. All the soaps are not as good as they once were, and it makes me wonder what happened to all the great writers that use to write for the soaps, but as I mentioned earlier I find GH to be the best of all of them. I don’t know what I would do if this soap was canceled as I am tired of the same old talk shows along with the game shows. We have too much of them as it is.
Cancel it! The show keeps beating a dead horse too often. Plus, it would let my wife go out and actually do something!

The reason of the low ratings is because just about every day they interrupt our shows for something or other. Every hurt toenail around the Kansas city area. Then they don’t replay them like they do when they interrupt prime time or some ball game. I know when they interrupt during our daytime shows we change the channel if it’s on to long. So they really need to figure that into there figures. We love our soaps as much as ever.
I always say every thing goes wrong around the world when GH is on! And we miss our show cause sone one was chasing by police on the road! Really!? Why we have to see the chasing the whole hour , and then reporter says more up date on 4 o’ clock! They never stop prime time programs !! No you wonder why viewing rate is low!!!
Amen, Why is it our General Hospital that is always taken off for Breaking News, Presidential Speeches, and anything else they drag up. Why not take off the Chew, I am sure no one will die from a missed recipe.

I am not surprised at all the SL are terrible I stopped watching in April.
Please keep GH going…..it’s one of the only good daytime drames left. I owuld be lost without it.
