Perhaps because ABC owns General Hospital outright, the network sometimes doesn’t announce if their sole surviving soap opera has been renewed for another season. However, they’d certainly let us know if the show had been cancelled! Since the soap is still airing, we can assume they renewed it for 2015-16. Will GH survive to see a 54th season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Laura Wright, Nancy Grahn, Finola Hughes, Dominic Zamprogna, Rebecca Herbst, Kelly Monaco, Sonya Eddy, Roger Howarth, Carolyn Hennesy, Billy Miller, Vinessa Antoine, William deVry, Kathleen Gati, Kirsten Storms, Chad Duell, Haley Pullos, Bryan Craig, Ryan Paevey, Tyler Christopher, Lisa Lo Cicero, Teresa Castillo, and Jane Elliot.

I have watched General Hospital since I was a little girl I remember coming home from school and my mother and I would watch together I am 68 years old now and this is the only soap opera left you took the other two away please don’t cancel general hospital I think of my mother when I watch it and she is no longer here Please don’t cancel General Hospital thank you

Just like all the other soap operas. General Hospital is boring and frankly stupid. The other networks were smart to get rid of theirs. Please ABC cancel the show. Why waiste money? Disney, please do the smart choice and do the right thing and cancel GH for good!!!
I am 72 years old and have watched GH since the very first show and my children were in diapers. I loved all three of the soap operas but now you only leave us with 1. Please don’t take General Hospital off the air please.

Cancel, cancel, cancel. What a waste a show, time and money. Please get rid of it. Sooner the better.
I can imagine that you love sports, or some show like The Big Bang Theory that is a waste of space. But just because I don’t like your television show means that I write in and bash a show that has been with you since you were a teenager. We enjoy our show, it’s one hour, if you don’t like it then change the channel. That is what I do everytime that Baseball, basketball, or the Big Bang Theory.

I’ve been watching for decades, and always discuss the plots and characters with friends who do the same. I watched OLTL and sometimes AMC, as well as Loving. There are still fans of the genre, please don’t leave us out in the cold.
Please dont cancel the show ive been watching for 40 years. You took off all my children and one life to live. Please of stiry lines to go. And causes and problems. Stories can be written from. It would be aweful if you cancelled it. To much bews and reality tv and talk shows. I mostly watch the soaps. And look forward to it everyday only real daytime tv left.
OMG I have been watching since 63. I look forward to the show everyday. I plan my schedule around GH. Everyone knows not to call me from 3 to 4. I can’t imagine my life without it. The writer is brilliant! please don’t cancel
RENEW Please, This is the best show on ABC! I DVR it and watch every night I have been watching this show for 35 plus years, sure miss All my children and One life to live, Please don’t cancel General Hospital for more boring talk shows or cooking shows. You can watch them on every other channels. ABC need to go back to SOAPS in afternoon
