What’s This TV Show About?
A dark EPIX comedy-drama, Get Shorty stars Chris O’Dowd, Ray Romano, Sean Bridgers, Carolyn Dodd, Megan Stevenson, Lucy Walters, and Sarah Stiles. Recurring in season two are Felicity Huffman, Isaac Keys, Steven Weber, Andrew Leeds, Amy Seimetz, Sonya Walger, and Alex Sawyer. Based on the 1990 Elmore Leonard novel and 1995 movie, the series centers on career criminal Miles Daly (O’Dowd) who wants to escape his life of crime, reclaim his family, and make it in the movie business.

EPIX TV shows are not part of the Nielsen ratings system, so it is difficult to predict whether they will cancel or renew Get Shorty for season three. Flying blind, I think it will get a third season renewal, but I’ll keep an eye on the trades and update this page with breaking developments. I love Get shorty. Please do not cancel. It is smart, funny, clever, dark and endlessly interesting.
This series has a wide swath of possibilities moving forward. Wylderness wins a few Oscars and Miles and April develop their own projects with Rickie becoming involved in cartel business and looking to launder money for Amana. Studio wars, drug wars, Federal moves (and payoffs), sex, drugs, and cin(sin)ema sychophants…,…..Think Breaking Bad on the Boulevard of Dreams. Please bring us a 3rd season!
This show has some of the most quirky characters and excellent writing that I have seen in some time. I only hope that they renew. My binge watching of this show is unlike me. It is just so darn good. Stay a bit longer, Shorty!
The way it ended in season two felt very much like a series finale. I love the show and would love for it to get renewed but am afraid it would be a very different show given the legitimate success Miles has now achieved. His ties to the underworld to get things done are what make the show what it is. The writers are very good and if anyone can save the show with the same dark, gritty feel, it’s this group. I hope they do because it is a great show.
Just started binge watching Season 1 and needed to know if my new addiction will continue. Please, please “go long” on Get Shorty! One of the best TV shows…Netflix, dont know how you do it, writing, casting…keep it coming-Season 3!!!!

It has to come back. Rick is in love with Amera and that’s a great storyline. Think I might be in love with her a lttle, she’s so Love and Rockets.

We watched a few season 1 episodes on a trial and immediately subscribed and binge watched the rest of all them. We are addicted and love the story line and cast. It’s right up there with the top series in the past. Hope there’ a FEW MORE seasons – love it!!
Love Get Shorty, and I think Lidia Porto is equal to Tony Soprano, terrific acting for Ms Porto, she deserves an Emmy. I hope Rick marries Imara, and becomes someone to be reckoned with, that would show his Dad and son. Love this show, great story, all the characters are unique and marvelous actors. Please Epix, renew for a third season!
Please, please, please give us another Season 3 for Get Shorty. I am an eighty year old lady whom my son made watch this show. I am now hooked and must know what happens to Miles, Louis, et al. Also, surely Rick doesn’t go to Guatamala to join Amera!!!
