Created by Lena Dunham, the comedy-drama stars her, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet as four twentysomething friends living in New York City. The cast also includes Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
In the interview, Dunham recalled the last days of shooting:
I looked up at the trees and smelled the air, and it was one of those moments where I was like, “I want to remember exactly what this was.” Then Jenni called cut, and literally men in their 60s were weeping. It was really special, and since I hated both high school and college, I was like, “Oh, that must be what it felt like when people were sad.”
And what about a future Girls movie? Dunham says that is definitely a plan:
Oh, we’re doing the movie. I’d just want to leave enough space so that we are finding them in a super different place than we left them. But if HBO paid for two Sex and the City ones, they’d better pay for one of ours.”
The sixth and final season of Girls premieres on HBO on February 12th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Girls? Are you sad the show is ending?
