TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.

A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.

Really like this show. Sure hope it doesn’t get cancelled. Have liked the actor Alan Cummings since The Good Wife. Great chemistry between the actors. Please don’t cancel another great show in favor of another reality show (way too many)
I love this show; and, hope it does not become a casualty of “reality shows!” I don’t want or need to see or hear about other people’s garbage, there’s far to much of that taking up the airwaves now!
I really like this show. I hope it continues – I thought it was scheduled to be on the next 2 Sundays but I now see it is NOT on the schedule. I hope it is brought back because I don’t pay a lot of attention to the ‘reality’ of it – I watch TV for the story and the acting – not reality!!!! Don’t people get enough reality in their lives that they need it in their TV programs too?? I don’t get it!!!
I’ve adored Alan Cumming since the good wife, And tho I will watch it every week I just think it’s kind of not well acted, I’m not sure, I can’t put my finger on it. The storylines are good & the premise is spot on but it needs more.

I watched a small segment of the show on Sunday night and was surprised by the poor editing. In a short clip about a basketball game the score was reported as 15-13 in the 4th quarter and one team had 7 timeouts remaining.
This show should definitely be renewed. All the actors connect really well and the plot keeps you guessing.
The ’69 grabber blue Mustang is a ’70 !! do your homework !!
Instinct should DEFINITELY be renewed. It’s a great show that is very interesting with story lines.
This show is a joy to watch. I look forward to it each week. The chemistry between the actors is really good, story lines are keep me guessing. Keep the program going. It’s refreshing, exciting without all the gore.
I love the instinct cast and crew. Please please make it more realistic. I’m watching the Flat liner episode. Get real! I.e. Your laxidasical attempt of ER procedure and CPR.
