TV show description:
From creator Lon Zimmet, the LA to Vegas TV show centers on the weekly Jackpot Airlines roundtrip flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The workplace comedy follows the crew and frequent fliers who make the regular weekend trek to the Sin City, with dreams of returning a big winner.
Captain Dave (McDermott) is always joking about drinking and getting high before flights. Or is he? He’s not above complaining about getting “cockpit” blocked and seems to think having fun with the passengers is his job number one. He’s also inclined to tease his naïve co-pilot, Alan (Talai).
Flight attendant Ronnie (Matula) is on top of everything up in the air — from keeping the passengers in check, to grounding her flighty crew mates. When she’s back home, on terra firma, her life is more or less a hot mess.
Meanwhile, senior flight attendant Bernard (Graham), is certain he knows it all. He certainly seems to know everything about everyone, like when Ronnie doesn’t get dressed until she’s in the terminal.
Jackpot regular Colin (Weeks) is an economics professor, who makes the weekly pilgrimage to Vegas, in an effort to reconnect with his son. The growing attraction he and Ronnie feel for one another might just prove the wrench in his pans.
Then there’s Artem (Stormare) and Nichole (Macklin). They’re regulars on the flight for one reason: money. While Artem’s a superstitious, professional gambler, Nichole’s an exotic dancer, who makes reliable bank in what is the City of Lost Wages, for most.
As this oddball crew and their kooky passengers spend more time together, they bond into a sort of temporary chosen family — at least on the weekends. After that, all bets are off.
Episode #15 — The Proposal
Ronnie applies for a job on another airline, not thinking about what a change in route might mean for her relationship with Bryan. Meanwhile, Captain Dave plans to propose to Patricia, against Nichole’s wishes, and Artem encourages Colin to stand up to his ex-wife.
First aired: May 1, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the LA to Vegas TV series? Should this TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on FOX?
No. No. No. Finally a cute show that makes you laugh!
People always commented on this show no matter where I went and I felt it was a hit. Certainly better than the overbearing number of reality shows out there. Figures this comes from the same stupid network that continues to air Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy where they don’t need to pay any REAL actors. Love Connection? — Give me a f-ing break !
I don’t get why the supposed “low ratings” …. this and the Mick were hilarious.
FOX is kind of starting to annoy me.
NO good comedy. I liked,
Fox that was one of your best shows in years!!! You could have done so much with it, all different stars flying every week. We only have 65 employees here but every week that was all they talked about!!! I hope another station picks it up, THAT WAS A GREAT SHOW, May bee you’ll replace it with more BULL **** NEWS NOBODY WANTS TO WATCH ANYMORE, C U FOX… Jerry Clement
WOW! LOVED THIS SHOW DONE WITH FOX
F U FOX
Yet another short sighted decision. With the viewing public clamoring for new and fresh all the execs can do is display their low self-esteem and cling to re-hashing the past. This was a creative new idea, a funny script and a well made series. Tsk Tsk Tsk.
Absolutely hilarious! One of the best shows on TV!
Laugh out loud funny! Please don’t cancel this show! Everyone on it is a riot with exceptional comic timing and the writing is brilliant. There are a lot, and I do mean A LOT, of shows that are cringe-worthy (i.e., Two Broke Girls, Man with a Plan, Superior Donuts, the one with Linda Lavin that’s so embarrassing I can’t remember the apartment number, etc.) that are still standing and this show FAR surpasses them. Maybe take it to a more “established” network??
too funny. i laugh every week. capt dave is the best
Would hate to see this show cancelled. It’s one of the few I watch every week
This show if very very funny! Please do not cancel this one. It is original, which is hard to comeby these days!!!! We all need a no brainer good laugh once in a while.
Really like this show. Please don’t cancel!
I thoroughly enjoy this show. The quick one-liners are great with perfect timing and body language.
