TV show description:
A new take on the family comedy, this series divides each episode into quarters. One quarter focuses on a branch of the Short family before bringing them together for the conclusion.
At the top of the family tree are John (James Brolin) and Joan (Dianne Wiest). Although in their twilight years, the pair are still very much in love and aren’t shy about their active sex life. John, about to turn 70, worries he hasn’t much time left and obsesses with his own funeral plans.
In his early thirties, Matt (Thomas Sadoski) still lives at home. This arrangement is proving awkward for his own romantic affairs with co-worker Colleen (Angelique Cabral). Her ex-fiance and dog are struggling to come to terms with the breakup.
Highly traumatized by the horror of childbirth are first-time parents Greg (Colin Hanks) and Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones). They are also shocked to have been released from the hospital with a newborn baby and no training manual.
Taking their son Tyler (Niall Cunningham) to University, eldest sibling Heather (Betsy Brandt) and her husband Tim (Dan Bakkedahl) are also dealing with change. Reluctantly letting their son fly from the nest, Tyler is packed off with a sandwich and some fatherly advice on losing his virginity. Both are unwelcome.
Episode #79 — Reverse Burden District Germany
When Tim and Heather realize that being grandparents is very far off in the future, they decide to have another baby. Also, Joan gets frustrated when she keeps getting tasked with watching the grandkids; Jen and Greg decide to look for a new house; and Matt gets a job offer in Germany, which is problematic for Colleen and Lucas.

Are you kidding me? My 2 favorite shows both just got cancelled. This is the show me and my wife enjoy the most, and laugh the most with.
And stupid ones like Single Parents and American Housewife get renewed.
This is a really good show – great writing, great acting and really funny story lines. What the heck are they thinking? Life in Pieces is one of the few shows that gives viewers a welcome oasis in a sea of really crappy reality TV shows. Please, please, please either change your mind and renew it or shop it around to another network that has enough brains to pick this winner up and run with it! All it needs is a decent advertising budget so people know where and when to tune it in.
I am crossing my fingers that some other network will pick this up. This show is so funny and the cast is hilarious. Please don’t cancel it.
Disappointing cancellation. Funny, good writing, good acting. Creative. Maybe if CBS didn’t wait til more than halfway through the season to start the Life in Pieces season, the show would have retained its following. And, if they would have put half the advertising money into this show as they did for a dud like Murphy Brown, maybe this show would have succeeded. Guess it didn’t help that this wasn’t a CBS-owned show, so there wasn’t much chance for success here.
Very upset Life In Pieces is cancelled! Fun show for the whole family to watch together which there are very few on TV that I can say that. All characters/actors are great, relatable and easily a member of everyone’s family. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL! Hopefully network will realize mistake and bring it back at least midseason however I think that it hurt this show starting its season in April 2019 instead of September 2018 like most shows. If its cancelled maybe another network will pick it up like Last Man Standing was.
Loved this show. Good acting and FUNNY!! Again, funny show gets booted while unfunny show stays. I have tried watching The Goldberg’s but mostly not funny. Tired of Barry character.
funniest show on regular tv. I have watched the pill so many times.
I don’t think its degrading to women. There are many women who are a lot like the women on the show. And each female has their unique characteristics. Same goes for the males on the show. A sitcom doesn’t have to have a moral point at end of episode. Some of these against the show seems like they miss & want the old stuff..like Happy Days..or 8 is Enough, ..on another note I wonder how Modern Family made it this long..& Thank God their finale is just around the corner. WE LOVE LIFE IN PIECES!! Smart writing, lovable characters, funny! The kids are great and a new little guy being added. We wait all week for this show! PLEASE KEEP IT!!
