What’s This TV Show About?
A USA Network action thriller, Shooter stars Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Eddie McClintock, Beverly D’Angelo, Lexy Kolker, and Josh Stewart. Harry Hamlin, Patrick Sabongui, Troy Garity, and Jaina Lee recur in season two.
Based on Stephen Hunter’s novel, Point of Impact, and the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film, Shooter, the thriller centers on expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe). Despite being retired and living in exile, Swagger is coaxed back into action for the most important mission of his lifetime. He soon finds himself the patsy in a massive conspiracy. Can he clear his name?
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Shooter is averaging a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.25 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% and down by 14%, respectively. Check out how Shooter stacks up against other USA Network TV shows.
Telly’s Take
I think this show is safe and will be renewed for a third season. Despite a significant decline in the ratings, Shooter is still one of USA’s higher rated series. I signed up to hear about Falling Water. What an exciting ending for season two. Please don’t let Falling Water end.
This is a great show, well written and has potential to be one of the no. 1 shows on tv. Following up with season 3 would be a great investment with publicity of the upcoming non-stop action of the show staring actors.

I hope they continue the series just got into it last month and it’s awesome.
Looking forward to seeing Season 3 be renewed, especially after Season 2 was ended so unexpectantly to a shortened second season on the USA Network.
USA You Better renew Shooter and Better Call Saul
Please do not cancel I’m a vade fan of this Show I would very much like it too continue. its not fair just to stop a show right in the middle of it when it is filled with as much drama as shooter is. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I would like to see how it plays out.
It would be a travesty to eliminate this show. They do an outstanding job with these. Very few plotholes, when there could easily be hundreds with so many different storylines and complicated conspiracies going on at once. Ryan phillipe does a surprisingly excellent job portraying a stubbornly upright, high-integrity, masculine protagonist that will not budge on his moral convictions. Even throws in some Christianity, which is usually a no-no. This show does everything with class, all while staying true to the grit of the novels. Badass action scenes. Great camera work. Too many shows being cut short with less than 3 or 4 seasons now, not good at all. Its the quality stuff getting axed for quantity imo
I love this show… Can’t wait for season .
I love this show. I purchased both seasons on Amazon Video and watched them in a marathon. I loved the novel Point of Impact and it is one of my favorite books. Same with the movie Shooter. I watch it over and over. Can’t wait for Season 3.
We really enjoyed this show and will be very disappointed if there is not another season.
