FOX has given a put pilot commitment to an untitled Marvel TV show, set in the X-Men universe. The project is a co-production of 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television. The pilot will feature two ordinary parents of children with extraordinary abilities. On the run from a hostile government, the family fights for survival with an “underground network of mutants.”
Matt Nix (FOX’s upcoming APB, Burn Notice) will write the pilot script and serve as an Executive Producer. Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), and Jim Chory are executive producing.
A “put pilot” commitment means the network will pay financial penalties if the pilot does not air, either as a special or as part of a television series. Get the details from this FOX press release.
