Published: October 8, 2019

Young and the Restless TV show: season 46 ratings (canceled or renewed?)Once again, fans of The Young and the Restless don’t have to worry that the series will be cancelled this time around. In June of 2017, the soap was renewed for three more seasons, through 2020. How will season 46 of the soap perform in the ratings? Will the CBS execs renew this soap again? Stay tuned.

Premiering on CBS on March 26th of 1973, The Young and the Restless follows the romances, hopes and fears of the residents of Midwestern metropolis Genoa City. The large cast includes Peter Bergman, Eric Braeden, Sasha Calle, Jason Canela, Sharon Case, Brooks Darnell, Eileen Davidson, Cait Fairbanks, Noah Alexander Gerry, Daniel Goddard, Camryn Grimes, Amelia Heinle, Bryton James, Hunter King, Christian LeBlanc, Kate Linder, Michael Mealor, Joshua Morrow, Melissa Ordway, Melody Thomas Scott, Kristoff St. John, Lexie Stevenson, Jason Thompson, Gina Tognoni, and Jordi Vilasuso.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available. You can see how the ratings for the four soap operas compare here.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The 2016-17 season of The Young and the Restless averaged a 0.68 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 4.32 million total viewers.

I LOVE THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS —- I have watched it since it started on TV which is most of my life. It’s like a family to me. It would be HORRIBLE if it would be taken off TV—so don’t consider taking it off TV — for people who truly love the show and are faithful viewers. PS — I didn’t like the new Adam at first—now he really fits in.

Started watching in 1973…but today I said ENOUGH!!! I typically record so I won’t miss anything. I watched yesterday’s recording and couldn’t even bring myself to watch today’s…I deleted it AND cancelled future recordings. I’m sick of reliving all the old Adam…crap. And now the old Phyllis coming back…spare me. I can’t believe what they did with Kyle’s character…he marries Summer so she can give part of her liver to Nola…then dumps her and we’re suppose to be happy that he’s playing house with Lola….awful writing. Honestly what a waste of time watching Kyle Abbott try to be “handy” to… Read more »

I too have watched since the beginning. All this hate and revenge. I want family drama. The show sucks. Truthfully if they could cancel it and show reruns from the beginning I would be thrilled

Love how the show is progressing from summer 2018. It is becoming very diverse, and finally coming into the present. With the good new younger actors, it should start attracting the younger crowd now, but hopefully it will still keep the regulars for the older folks. I’m loving it right now!

I have been watching The Young & The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful since day one. When I was working full time I would record it every day and watch it at night. When I vacationed at our lanai at Playa Linda in Aruba for 2 weeks every December, I would leave the beach every day to watch the Y&R, and the B&B. I am now 68 and retired. I watch Y&R & B&B every day, and when I am not home I DVR it every day. I am one of the biggest fans of The Y&R and… Read more »

I have watched this show for 45 yrs. Along with the Bold & Beautiful, these 2 shows are at the top of my list for daytime serials. I love the drama. My mother-in-law started me watching Young & Restless back in 1974. It was so eexciting and intense watching the characters go through their lives with all the ups and downs. Now that I’m retired, the shows are my down time in my hectic schedule. If I watch no other tv during the day, its going to be a must that I see your show. Please keep it coming and… Read more »

I had rather see the plot play itself out than see something that is fake to the story line throwed in and not true to itself.
