What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, the Bluff City Law TV series stars Jimmy Smits, Caitlin McGee, Scott Shepherd, Barry Sloane, Michael Luwoye, MaameYaa Boafo, Stony Blyden, and Jayne Atkinson. Coming from a famous Memphis family that’s known for taking on injustice, a brilliant lawyer named Sydney Strait (McGee) used to work at her father Elijah’s celebrated law firm until their tumultuous relationship got in the way. After barely speaking to Elijah (Smits) for years, Sydney is suddenly thrust back into the family fold when her philanthropist mother passes away unexpectedly. In the wake of the loss of his wife and in hopes of reconnecting with the daughter he loves, Elijah asks Sydney to rejoin his Civil Rights firm and take on a chemical company whose product may cause cancer. Despite her lingering resentment and distrust, she agrees because she knows that working alongside her father is her best hope at changing the world — as long as they can find a way to get along. No sooner has Sydney returned than she stumbles on a secret that Elijah has been keeping from her that may change everything.

Will NBC cancel or renew Bluff City Law for season two? The ratings aren’t great and have been dropping lower and lower. A show that follows The Voice should be doing better. I love Bluff City Law just binge watched. Can’t wait for second season! Didn’t even know about it beforehand. More advertising would’ve made us aware of this fantastic series.
My family and friends really enjoy watching Bluff City Law. It isn’t just a show about lawyers and injustice it is also about everyday people and their struggles and the hope that there are people out there for you whether they know you are not. Right now especially we need hope that’s things can get better and us as people can get better too.
Bluff city law was good, clean entertainment with solid actors and stories. It should definitely be renewed.

WHY does any program of quality story line, great character interaction, first rate actors such as Bluff City Law not get IMMEDIATE RENEWAL?? This is such a quality program and worthy of being renewed. Of all the poor, low mentality, crass humor shows presently being aired and should be cancelled…quality programming as Bluff City Law should be given every opportunity to prevail.

One of the few shows I recorded weekly. Sorry they canceled it. Good plot lines that were taken from headlines. Left you with a small hope that the legal system still had a morsel of integrity left.
