The Bold and the Beautiful: 2017-18 Season Ratings (updated 9/21/18)

Published: September 29, 2018

The Bold and the Beautiful TV show on CBS: ratings (cancel or renew?)
In June 2017, CBS renewed The Young and the Restless for three more years but The Bold and the Beautiful was only renewed through the 2017-18 season. Is that a bad sign? Will this soap be cancelled or renewed for 2018-19? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

Premiering on CBS on March 23rd of 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful revolves around the Forrester family and their fashion house in Los Angeles. Castmembers include Ashleigh Brewer, Darin Brooks, Kimberlin Brown, Scott Clifton, Patrika Darbo, Don Diamont, Reign Edwards, Courtney Hope, Thorsten Kaye, Katherine Kelly Lang, John McCook, Alley Mills, Karla Mosley, Rena Sofer, Heather Tom, Anthony Turpel, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, and Jacob Young.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available. You can see how the ratings for the four soap operas compare here.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The 2016-17 season of The Bold and the Beautiful averaged a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 3.60 million total viewers.

Raw data courtesy Soap Opera Network.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

What do you think? Do you still like The Bold and the Beautiful TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for additional seasons?

8/9/18 update: CBS has confirmed that The Bold and the Beautiful has been renewed for season 32. Details here.

I am thoroughly sick of the Steffy/Liam/Bill and Hope train wreck of a storyline! Not all viewers are millennials. The writers need to stop beating a dead horse. Kimberlin Brown is sadly underused as Sheila. The more adult storylines are dying on the back burner. If the sorry excuse for writing continues, I hope the show is cancelled. Put it out of the viewers ‘ misery!

B&B has recycled the same old story line so many times, it is tiresome to watch. Ridge-Brooke-Taylor trio is now Hope Liam Steffy. Characters are created, and then the story goes against their personality as well as their history. Steffy drove Hope to a nervous break down, lied, and manipulated Liam like a the clay pot he is. Dollar Bill is the only character left making sense with Brooke running a very close second. Steffy gets far too much face time, and Ridge, his ego has turned a favorite actor into an antacid moment. All she does is whine on… Read more »

I used to like the bold and the beautiful but now not so much I’ve stopped watching I’m tired of the same old story line with brook and ridge and now steffy and liam and Hope. Hope and liam storyline is old and boring and liam is going all overboard when not to long ago himself he had feelings for another woman or did we forget. What cb happened to dealing with real live issues not this same old ridge brook bill now steffy and and steffy hope and liam its sickening!!!!!! If you can’t find better writers then cancel… Read more »

I love the bold and beautiful, but the Hope & Liam story line is bore. Let Liam & Steffy stay married so they can raise their baby together. Please keep Dollar Bill away from Steffy. That story line I did not like. Why would you allow Liam to ask Hope to marry him when he has not file the annullment papers. Change the story line. I love the show, but sometimes I turn the TV. You need new writers. Hope & Liam don’t need to be together. If the writers keep that up I think I will stop watching it.

Cherrye from Augusta, Ga. I have loved the show for many years. I hope it will not be ending soon. However, I am sadden with the story line with Bill coming between Liam and SSteffy’s marriage. Please get the writers to back him off so their little family can stay together and be happy with their new baby. Thank you.

Either develope the characters, stop rehashing old story lines and plots, or CANCEL THE SHOW. You got rid of Thomas & Sally yet boring, do nothing but take up space Rick & Maya are STILL there. Do something other than repeated weddings for Brooke and Ridge and the never-ending triangle between Hope/Liam/Steffy. Also how is it that now Steffy is Bill’s GREAT LOVE when not that long ago he felt the exact same way about Brooke?? I know it’s just a soap but can they try to make some sense.

I really like the bold and the beautiful, but it constantly rehashing the same dull story lines I’m done now. Leave Steffy and Liam alone this is ridiculous, A teddy NEVER would have cheated on Liam. Now here’s Hope for 20 15 of this boring triangle

Been watching since 1st episode. Please renew. I think ratings would pick up if it was for an hour instead of just 30 minutes. Have Sally open up her fashion business so there can be some competition for the Forresters. I’ve never felt the chemistry between Brook with the new Ridge replacement… sad. But please don’t cancel the show… I only watch this one and Y&R. Joyce

I think the show would fare far better if it were an hour long and got back to its roots of being a fashion house. It has been far too long since there has been a fashion show, a completed collection that encompasses both clothing and jewelry, etc. Where is the design competition between the Forester sons Ridge, Thomas, and Thorne. What happened to Bill’s getting Sally a new building for her to create the line she was getting ready to make and show before Bill blew up her families building? Get on with it. The drama’s great but mix… Read more »

I agree about Steffy. She’s become pathetic and weak – nothing like her namesake. For that matter Katie could develope some backbone too. Stand up to the man who slept w/ his daughter-in-law. Stop crying! As for Hope, go back to Italy. Liam is having a child w/another woman and Liam isn’t Deacon Sharpe. He won’t turn his back on his kid.

I have a problem with this soap because they make women look desperate. No strong women. Will sleep with their family. To incest related relationships with all the characters.

Renew!!!!!!! I’ve been watching since 1st episode when I was a tennager! It’s part of my family! It’s the only soap I watch now. R&R is no good anymore with Mrs. Chancellor gone. Love B&B family! They make me laugh, angry, cry, and happy and scared! Please Renew! It’s my getaway from the other crap on TV!
Renew renew renew!

Amen to that! I am sick of all the reality shows and talk show taking over the airways every day and night of the week on every channel, not only on the networks but on Lifetime, A&E, USA, etc. That and constant reruns of every syndicated show over and over again. And they wonder why millions of people have turned to premium cable channels like HBO and Showtime and the SyFy channel, satellite tv, and streaming channels like Hulu, Sling, Amazon Prime, and Netflix?

If they really knew I certainly hope they do make the women stronger and have some morals. Everywoman has slept with almost every man. And that’s sickening
