Last year, Days of Our Lives was (once again) the lowest-rated of the four remaining network soap operas. It seemed very possible that it could be cancelled by NBC but the network renewed Days in March 2018. Will it be renewed for season 55 for the 2019-20 broadcast season or, is this venerable soap truly in its final days? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Premiering on November 8th of 1965, Days of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. It revolves around the members of the Brady, Horton, and DiMera families — along with their friends, enemies, and lovers. Castmembers include Lucas Adams, Lamon Archey, Camila Banus, Nadia Bjorlin, Tyler Christopher, Kassie DePaiva, Mary Beth Evans, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Olivia Rose Keegan, Victoria Konefal, Lauren Koslow, Eric Martsolf, Chandler Massey, Marci Miller, Casey Moss, Melissa Reeves, James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Christopher Sean, Freddie Smith, Sal Stowers, Josh Taylor, Greg Vaughan, Vanessa A. Williams, and Robert Scott Wilson.

For comparisons: The 2017-18 season of Days of Our Lives averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.25 million total viewers.

Please don’t cancel days of our lives ⏳. I watched it all of my life . I record it and then I can watch it when I can . I will definitely miss it .
ALSO….Maybe they should start working on preserving ALL episodes and putting them on CD discs since Season 1/Episode 1, like they did with the Dark Shadows TV series! Watched that one when I was a child coming home after school, but never got to see the first several shows until they sold it on Amazon (in a coffin box!) Got it for my husband for Xmas, took us almost 2 years but we watched every single one! It will be a family keepsake for our children/grandchildren to watch. I’d like to see Bo Brady come back in ‘spirit form’ to give support to Hope and Ciarra during troubled times. I realize Stephan Dimara, Caroline Brady (deceased actor/actress and can’t do cameos, SAD!) It would make the show more interesting for sure! I would enjoy more scenes with the smaller children, Arianna (Gabi/Will/Sonny’s daughter) and Holly (Nicole’s daughter). And guys! Why are you carrying this big toddlers around?! I have been watching Days since day one. I have watched it thru raising my kids, working full time (thanks to the invention of the VCR) and now in my retirement. I am the same age as Susan Seaforth. It is like watching an extended family. Crazy at times , but still…… If its cancelled I am sure it will leave a void in my routine, sad like losing family. I know everything ends sometime but I will not be watching the new shows if this happens. I hope you change your mind.

I have been a loyal fan of Days of our lives since I was a little girl. I’ve been watching since 1969. I look forward to that hour Monday – Friday wishing most of the time it lasted more then a hour. When you have been watching a program that long it almost seems real and that their part of the family. The last thing we need is a talk show or game show. I look forward to an hour or so to just forget about the every day stresses. I do have a great life, but it has become part of who I am….not sure my husband likes that but it’s “my show” and it was mine long before we met and he knew this! He came with kids and I came with my show, fair is fair LOL

I have been watching Days of our Lives since 1968 I have seen every episode And still enjoy the show today my days would be empty if not for Days of our lives I was seven and when days first cane on air and I must confess I enjoyed watching my Nana yelling at the tv I am now sixty one and a half years young and find myself fallowing my Nana ways of yelling at the tv . I love Days and I’m a die hard fan so I have to watch every day to know what’s going on. Days ratings will be going up because the storyline is getting so good again and they are bringing the “fun” back into it. They are also accepting the fact that when they take the fan favorites off the show that it doesn’t work. The fans go crazy and the ratings go way down. Please do not cancel Days. I just got into it 3 years ago and I’m addicted. I was born in the early 60’s and my Mom watched it every day and I didn’t get into it until my 50’s . Sorry I missed the 50 years before. Great show. Please do not cancel.
DOOL is a Daytime staple. I’ve been watching since I was a young girl with my Mom. It’s much better than the others. It would be a shame if they cancel this show. Unfortunately, I know the TV network execs don’t care what regular people think. I hope they don’t cancel it.
Please do Not cancel. I love this soap & have been watching since day one. I used to watch it with my grandmother back in the 60’s & 70’s till she died. She loved it, too. I hate reality, game & talk shows & I never watch them. To take this off to replace with one of those would be horrible. Please, please, please keep this on!!
