A couple weeks ago, FOX announced that the Empire TV show had been renewed for a sixth season for the 2019-20 season. Today, the network announced that that will be the end for the music drama. There won’t be a seventh season of what was once FOX’s biggest series.
Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Serayah, Andre Royo, Rhyon Nicole Brown, and Nicole Ari Parker. The series revolves around the Empire Entertainment company, founder Lucious Lyon (Howard), his three sons (Gray, Smollett, and Byers), and their mother, Cookie (Henson). The Lyons lost the company in season four and season five saw the clan still trying to reclaim Empire two years later.
Season six will see Empire return to its original Tuesday timeslot and the drama will surpass the 100 episode mark. The sixth season will have 20 episodes, which will be the series’ biggest season yet. The first season had 12 installments while later seasons had 18 episodes each.

As the series enters its final season, one thing is for sure, the Lyons never go out without a bang.
On today’s press call, FOX Entertainment boss Charlie Collier said, “We are turning the final season into a large TV event. We’re trying to go out guns a-blazing.” There’s still no word on how big a role (if any) Smollett will have in the final season.

I love the show Empire. It was the bright spot in my dull uncable evening. I don’t understand why the show has to be cancelled. The Smollett drama did not effect my admiration for the show

Me and my husband love Empire we set our DVR to make sure we didn’t miss an episode. Empire will be truly missed in our household. I pray another station will pick it up. I’m sure I know why it was canceled but the whole staff and fans shouldn’t have to suffer because of it. Please bring it back. They’re cancelling most of the shows we watch.
PLEASE continue EMPIRE! I do not have the words to express how sad almost 99.9% of this world would be if they could not watch such a on-going suspense show such as this…. I’m gonna cry just thinking of NO MORE EMPIRE… I want to see how Lucious come back and get his Cookie… Plus, Cross need to go! I hate snakes. Please do not allow what Lucious and Cookie have fought for, worked hard to gain and keep be destoryed…IM BEGGING!!!
This is an amazing show and to see it go is SAD! I understand that the actors have other projects (movies, shows and etc.) that they are involved in but you are bringing something into the American households to enjoy watching and it give us a chance to see how the other half lives that to has major problems just like we do regardless of how much money you have. This show shows strength, family, power, religion, betrayal, forgiveness, love, support, trust, heartbreak and anything else that I’ve left out. Oh no no no!!!!! This is a family favorite in our home,we make dinner and everyone is ready to see what’s next…Sad to see it go..
I am truly sadden at the decision to end Empire. I don’t watch much tv but I’ve watched every episode of Empire. I love the characters and their roles, I think they’re all amazing. This is a step backwards for black entertainment. I’m joining the many viewers who like myself enjoyed Empire, in saying “PLEASE DON’T TAKE EMPIRE OFF”
I can’t believe they would cancel Empire. My family looks forward to watching the show every every week and we make sure we don’t miss an episode! I certainly hope that Smollet’s ignorant actions aren’t the impetus behind this decision because that’s not fair to the rest of the amazing cast and the devoted fans! Please don’t do it! We love this show and will continue to watch Empire for seasons to come! There will literally be no reason to turn on the TV anymore!
YES, I love the new day and time (but will be watching no matter when it airs)!!! I have been an Empire fan from day one and will be until they take their last breath!!! They did an AMAZING job on casting and I wouldn’t have cast any differently!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Taraji and Terrence on ANYTHING together!!!!! Their chemistry is absolutely UNMATCHABLE/no such word, BUT you get my point!!!! My popcorn is already laying by the microwave, and I am just READY for the show to begin!!!

Okay here’s an idea okay if we must get rid of jussie Smollett then fine but let’s not get rid of Jamal let’s make Jamal have been in a plane accident on his way coming back from his honeymoon and he won’t be recognizable after the plane crash let’s bring somebody else into play him after they had reconstructive surgery the answer
So what I’m saying is Jessie or Jamaal will still be on the show but with all the bandages you won’t be able to tell who it is until they’re able to find somebody to fit in the slot the doctor will have to announce to the family that they may not recognize him after the plane crash damn I should have wrote this show
