A couple weeks ago, FOX announced that the Empire TV show had been renewed for a sixth season for the 2019-20 season. Today, the network announced that that will be the end for the music drama. There won’t be a seventh season of what was once FOX’s biggest series.
Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Serayah, Andre Royo, Rhyon Nicole Brown, and Nicole Ari Parker. The series revolves around the Empire Entertainment company, founder Lucious Lyon (Howard), his three sons (Gray, Smollett, and Byers), and their mother, Cookie (Henson). The Lyons lost the company in season four and season five saw the clan still trying to reclaim Empire two years later.
Season six will see Empire return to its original Tuesday timeslot and the drama will surpass the 100 episode mark. The sixth season will have 20 episodes, which will be the series’ biggest season yet. The first season had 12 installments while later seasons had 18 episodes each.

As the series enters its final season, one thing is for sure, the Lyons never go out without a bang.
On today’s press call, FOX Entertainment boss Charlie Collier said, “We are turning the final season into a large TV event. We’re trying to go out guns a-blazing.” There’s still no word on how big a role (if any) Smollett will have in the final season.

I don’t know why Empire is ending it is still a great show it opened the door for so many LBGT roles that were not there before. The cast is great including Jussie Smollett he was the music so if the show is ending that is why because they can not fine anyone to fill his shoes. Empire should continue as a TV show. It is a positive diverse show and portrays a positive diverse view of modern life in the U.S. for mutiple age groups. I only watch Fox News and Empire, now I may not watch Fox at all. Bring Empire back for Season 7 and beyond!!
I agree I only watch fox for Empire if its canceled that’s it for Fox and I Love Jussie smollett now that he’s not there it’s a huge difference the others are trying but he was the music. Also I don’t believe his personal life and his work life should have any connection

I have watched empire from the beginning and yes I would watch season 7 I am going to miss my empire I feel nothing can replace my empire to the writers and cast members and the whole empire family you will be missed come back soon love you,…….
Yes Empire was the first and the best everyone tries to copy but it’s not working they have the best chemistry and they really seem like they are family so it pulls you in even more. Empire has opened the door for the LBGT community every show now has a LGBT role now thanks to Empire. If you must give Jussie a slap on the hand and get over it I want to hear him sing and see him act.
I have watch Empire from the start and I hate to see it leave. After work I rush home to see Empire. Please have Empire to come back. I live, sleep and eat Empire

I can’t believe it’s going to end and they left such a cliffhanger!! This and Star were my favorite duo and Star is missed immensely. I would watch forever if it lasted
I would continue watching several more seasons with this writing! I’m so invested in these characters as are my friends, I think it’s crazy to end it. Please rethink this!

I love Empire. It’s one of the most exciting and enjoyable shows on Fox TV. I think it should be renewed. It’s one of the reason I watch Fox TV.
