The alphabet network is checking out of Grand Hotel. ABC has cancelled the summer soapy drama series so there won’t be a second season.
Executive-produced by Eva Longoria, Grand Hotel stars Demián Bichir, Roselyn Sánchez, Denyse Tontz, Bryan Craig, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Lincoln Youne, Shalim Ortiz, Anne Winters, Chris Warren, Feliz Ramirez, and Justina Adorno. The primetime soap centers on the Riviera Grand, the last family-owned hotel in Miami Beach, owner Santiago Mendoza (Bichir), and his family. Beneath the veneer of luxury, lurk sinful scandals, financial foibles, and deep, dark secrets.
The first season of Grand Hotel averaged just a 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.72 million viewers. Of ABC’s 14 summer series, Grand Hotel ranked in 10th place, both in the demo and viewership.
Grand Hotel ran for one season of 13 episodes. The de facto series finale aired on September 9th.
What do you think? Did you like the Grand Hotel TV series? Would you have watched a second season of this ABC TV show?
BIG BIG BIG mistake… Shame on the network for cancelling a very good and entertaining program!!!
I ENJOYED IT BERY MUCH WOULD HAVE WATCHED A SECOND SEASON SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON IN WINTER
Agree!! The demographic they are looking for was hanging out at the pool all summer!
I loved Grand Hotel. I looked forward to watching it every week. So sad to hear it has been cancelled.
Noooo!! Not fair, they left us hanging !!!
I liked the show and was looking forward to season 2
I would have watched every episode and every season.Shame on you for taking it off. It should have been on at an earlier time instead of 10 pm on a weeknight. It would have had more viewers. Plus you only judge it by the people who watch in 18 to 49 year old bracket. I am 74 and I loved the show. Not fair. Done with ABC.
Yes we were looking forward to a second season if GRAND HOTEL
I liked it!I am hoping another network might could pick it up!
Yes I thought it was a great show and enjoyed watching it every Sunday evening. The funny thing is I don’t even watch shows like that primarily just news and sports. I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to season two.
I watched 63 episodes of the Spanish version Gran Hotel and the acting and storyline (set in a castle in Spain in early 1920’s) was far superior to the American version. I was somewhat disappointed to
Note how the plotline was so lacking compared to the Spanish version- Gran Hotel dubbed Spanish version still available on Amazon and possibly netflix ( not sure s as before Amazon acquired it netflix had all 63 episodes.
Yes! The family was hoping for Season 2. it was a fun evening soap opera and even my husband liked it.
Can ABC give this another look?
I always looked forward to seeing this show. I even DVRd it when I wasn’t going to be home so I wouldn’t miss it! So Sad to see it go.
