What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS crime thriller, based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, Instinct stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, and Sharon Leal. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer. Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), lends a hand, along with Lizzie’s C.O., Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal). Season two kicks off with Dylan reinstated as NYPD consultant, where he can both impress and irritate Lizzie. Meanwhile, Dylan’s husband, Andy (Ings), pursues adoption as a way for the couple to finally become parents.

So what happens to Lizzie on the road, Julian and Goodman, Nebraska, Dylan, Andy the baby. I can only say that this happens to too many shows across all channels and networks all to often. RENEW, RENEW, RENEW.
Poor decision by CBS not to renew. Having S2 premiere over the summer when many viewers are on vacation would have a negative effect on ratings so I find this rationale irrational. The cast is superb, the plot enoyable. Alan Cumming is one of the most gifted actors of our time and I was SO happy he decided to do a weekly network series.
Canceling a show like this and keeping something like Big Brother for God knows how many seasons makes zero sense. Quality matters.
I hope another network will pick up this show.
I’m going to miss instincts. I found this show refreshing, held my interest completely. It’s one of the few shows I watched regularly. Sorry to see it end.
I hardly watch the basic stations anymore. Leaving ridiculous amount of reality tv that has no entertainment value to me.
Is there ANY chance someone else will breathe life into this marvelous show? Perhaps HULU or Netflix will give us a Season 3 so we may continue to watch these characters grow? I was dying to see the baby shower alone!! These characters had such depth not to mention charisma. Please allow us to continue following their ups, downs, as they solve crimes & live life. Just because CBS thinks the world needs yet another episode of Big Brother which displays what’s wrong with TV doesn’t mean another network or streaming service won’t bring us more episodes of this quality… Read more »
Instinct was one of only 4 shows that I watch on the can’t be sensible network. Now I’m down to 3, though it used to be 8. Good work, new execs! I really enjoyed the show and will miss it. Luckily, I have 5 streaming channels to watch, so my time will be well filled. And I will NOT be subscribing to all access. I refuse to reward greedy people for canceling my favorite shows.
Cancelling Instinct is upsetting me. I really want to see season 3. It does not deserved to cancelled. Please renew it for the season 3 for me.
Of course a show I really like compared to the inane shows like Big Brother are on year after year. Don’t understand where they get their surveys because everyone I talk to love this show

Wow. What a loss. Have never watched Big Bro. Prefer Steve Harvey over that junk and trust me that is not saying much. Please give us back Instinct. Not only do the actors know how to act they are believable, intelligent and interesting.
I am really angry that this has been cancelled. I watch CBS shows and have CBS All Access. You put soft-porn with the show “Love Island” during the 8 to 9 slot that used to be known as the “Family Hour”. Plus you keep renewing that stupid show “Big Brother” on season after season with people with brains the size of a pea. Stop trying to please the young crowd who lie when filling out surveys. I know plenty of people from the ages of 35 to 41 and they don’t watch network TV. They stream everything. BRING BACK INSTINCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You actually PAY them for canceling your favorite shows?? I will not spend one dime on all access. I am appalled by the highly-edited “reality” shows that present only the baser side of human nature – I will not watch ANY of them, free or otherwise. the can’t be sensible execs seem to think that we are all as dumb as rocks to fall for that nonsense and they are too cheap to pay for well-scripted, beautifully acted, interesting and intelligent shows. Really? Cancelled? CBS keeps the junk shows like Big Brother and cancels Instinct which has depth of story. Boo CBS.

I couldn’t agree with you more they keep these worthless shows like Big Brother Love Island etc & then don’t renew great shows like Instinct or any show that has a great story & depth.
