TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around Elizabeth McCord (Tèa Leoni), a newly appointed Secretary of State. She’s a shrewd and determined woman who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues — both at the White House and at home.
A college professor and a brilliant former CIA analyst who left the agency for ethical reasons, Elizabeth returns to public life at the request of the President — following the suspicious death of her predecessor.
President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) values her apolitical leanings, her deep knowledge of the Middle East, and her flair for languages. He also appreciates her ability to not just think outside the box, but to not even acknowledge there is a box.
McCord debates third world problems, finesses foreign dignitaries at work and does battle with the President’s combative Chief of Staff Russell Jackson (Željko Ivanek).
Elizabeth’s team includes her Chief of Staff Nadine Tolliver (Bebe Neuwirth), speechwriter Matt Mahoney (Geoffrey Arend), press coordinator Daisy Grant (Patina Miller), and her charming assistant Blake Moran (Erich Bergen).
In her personal life, she has a supportive husband, Henry (Tim Daly), and three children — Stephanie “Stevie” (Wallis Currie-Wood), Alison (Katherine Herzer), and Jason (Evan Roe).
Episode #120 — Leaving the Station
President Elizabeth McCord kicks off a new landmark political initiative with help from members of the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s Soccer team, while Flo Avery (Cicely Tyson), who was born the day women were granted the right to vote, looks on. Opposing the initiative is Senator Amy Ross (Tyne Daley) from Ohio. Also, the McCords overcome last-minute obstacles to pull off a spectacular family celebration with a reunion of familiar faces, that includes a performance by Peter Frampton.
First aired: December 8, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Madam Secretary TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season?
We enjoyed the show and think it shouldn’t be cancelled.
The best show on the network, please keep going!
My family and I LOVE the show; we are intrigued and engaged wondering what will happen next. We find the content the dialogue and characters engaging and very contemporary; Please keep going: we are in!
My husband and I LOVE the show. The intellegent content, characters, and the supurb acting have us as devoted fans. Please continue to present this high quality show.
My household looks forward each week to madam secretary. It is such a great tv show. It would be a shame for it to cancel. Looking forward to another year of episodes.
With a complicated mistrusted government, Madame Secretary brings intelligence and a sense of trust to this government job that makes me always make certain I see each show. We certainly hope and pray this series continues forward. We feel this show is so well written.
I enjoy this show immensely, though I would clarify the storyline & the guest characters a bit more. This show presents temporary characters from foreign countries with atypical names in a multidimensional storyline that advances rapidly, all good but complex points. But we need more time to process the foreign names, attitudes & policies. I love Elizabeth on so many levels including her ability to act intelligently & authoritatively in her position, compassionately with her kids & enjoys a fresh & alive relationship with her husband. Henry’s philosophies, used to support his wife through her challenges, elevate my level of… Read more »
I came into this show late in the series and love it. I would like to see it from the beginning. Very intriguing and smart tv. Love the dialogue and cast. DO NOT CANCEL. One of the best on TV where you actually get to think a little.
Great show! Best on the networks. I would hate to see it cancelled. If I see another reality tv show introduced, I will switch to cable tv entirely. Reality tv dummies you down instead of inspiring you to imagine the possibilities of what you could achieve or simply intrigue you with a mystery as madam secretary does. Keep it coming!
Please renew this show , great writing ,cast, and pace. We look forward Sunday invite with madam secretary and Henry,!,,
This is one of the best if not the best tv series that has come along in years. Tea Leoni does a
fantastic job in her role as Madam Secretary and the whole cast is extroadenary as well.
It’s about time we have a good series to watch. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CANCELING
THIS SHOW.
IF THEY SHOULD CANCEL ANYTHING GET RID OF THE LIBERAL NEWS SHOWS THAT ARE A

I have enjoyed this show a great deal. It engages you to the point of wanting to see how each situation is solved . Very intriguing and p de heaps plausible in real life.
awesome show should not be cancelled.
Yes indeed David Kingsley love this TV show and fully agree that it deserves to be aired during a week night, instead of on the weekend!…But, these days the major networks seem to delight in playing little tin gods and totally ignore what their views would like to see and when the viewers want to see it.
Madam Secretary is my absolute favorite tv show. The cast is great, the writing is great and it’s the best there is on any network. My only wish is that is would be aired sometime between Monday and Friday. Please do not cancel this on. It’s a jewel.
