NIA LONG JOINS THE CAST OF “NCIS: LOS ANGELES”

CBS announced today that Nia Long has joined the cast of NCIS: LOS ANGELES as a series regular. She will be introduced in the ninth season premiere on Sunday, Oct. 1 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT).

Long will play the team’s new executive assistant director, Shay Mosely. As a former Secret Service agent now working for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Mosely is an experienced Washington insider who brings an east coast style and demeanor to the west coast team.

“The character was created specifically for Nia to capitalize on her strengths and personality, and we are excited about the new opportunities and dynamics she brings to the show,” said NCIS: LOS ANGELES executive producer R. Scott Gemmill. “We couldn’t be happier to have her join our family.”

Since making her feature film debut in “Boyz N the Hood,” actress Nia Long has gone on to star in more than 50 movies and television shows. Some of her notable film credits include “Friday,” “Soul Food,” “Love Jones,” “The Best Man,” “Boiler Room,” “Big Momma’s House,” “Alfie,” “Are We There Yet?,” “Big Momma’s House 2,” “The Best Man Holiday” and “Keanu.” Long can next be seen in the indie film “Lemon,” from director Janicza Bravo, which premiered at Sundance and will be released nationwide on August 18. Also, she starred in the Sundance indie “Roxanne Roxanne” and recently wrapped the Sony feature “Life in a Year.”

Long is the ambassador for the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets program, a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. This month, she is traveling to Tanzania for the campaign, to visit the world’s largest refugee camp where she will meet with refugee families and distribute insecticide-treated mosquito nets that help keep families safe from the disease.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES stars Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa and Renée Felice Smith. It is produced by CBS Television Studios.

Cannot stand selfish and domineering and her style in dealing with this incredible team is just awful. Please get rid of her. She is demeaning and plays the part too well. Know humility or sense of humor. Just doesn’t fit

Mosley is a terrible addition. I keep watching weekly hoping for improvement-her management style had squashed the personalities that make up the show. Whoever hired her should have her written off the show. Hetty is her role-Mosley is a temp

I Love the Show!!! And the Cast!! Callen, Sam, Hetty, Kensu & Deeks are so perfect in their parts. Also Nell & Eric. I hope you won’t do anything foolish about switching the characters
Around! I’m now enthralled watching Reruns on Sundays!!! LOVE THEM!! Especially that you are continuing one episode follwing the other -in sequence! It’s keeping me glued to the tv.
Keep this Show going….I do continue to follow them on their new Sunday night spot…BUT I
Would prefer having it run one night during the week.

If this shows goes off it’s because of bad writing and casting. Having hetty take leave and bringing in Mosley aka Nia Long was a HUGE mistake. Ugh!! This show sucks with Nia on it. SMH.

I really do not like Mosley. She is a bad fit! Never does she support Hattie’s team. Demanding and sarcastic. Hope you take her off!

My family and I have loved NCIS:LA, its been the highlight of our week. Loved every character in it. But now it is dreadful with Nia Long!! She does NOT fit in at all!! You have completely spoilt the show. We don’t even want to watch it anymore. Her character is bossy and overbearing. In fact both the new characters do not fit. There’s no chemistry at all. What have you done to ruin a fantastic series?? Nothing can replace Hetty… you have to come up with something different to make this work. We can understand if Linda Hunt decides… Read more »

I agree with everybody – this season is terrible – the writer must want the show to end – Deeks acts like he hates Kensi – there is no chemistry anymore – the new boss is a horrible addition – so phony -I used to live for Sunday nights – now i couldn’t care less – Hetty was the best the way the guys teased deeks was hilarious – now they all seem to be just there not even enjoying themselves They did the same thing to NCIS with Zeva and Tony – They have lost me and if this… Read more »

a Long don’t care for Nia Long for the role. She is just not the right person for it. What I do is mute the sound when she start speaking. I guess the next thing is just stop watching. I just don’t like her for this role.

I personally see NCIS:LA series soon ending due to Nia Long being added. Hetty can’t be replaced. This character that Nia Long is playing doesn’t fit the part. She comes across as bossy and trying to be real sexy on the show, which in my opinion does not fit the show. Sorry, but doesn’t work for me.

Huge fan and loyal watcher until the addition of Nia Long. Her character ruins the show. And, her trailing assistant is just as sickening. Directors/Writers need to go back to the basics that made the show an initial success. Not watching until Nia Long is GONE!

With the addition of Nia Long the show went from GREAT to AWFUL. It isn’t the same without Hetty. I’d rather scrub floors and do laundry than watch NCISLA with Nia Long as a cast member!

New boss character is the typical micro-managing SforB that their writers ALWAYS create. Nothing new just came old same old. Who plays it makes NO difference!

It will take a lot of getting used to, to not see Hetty anymore. She was a mainstay of the show. Would kind of be like Gibbs leaving NCIS. Hopefully, the writers don’t frustrate us with making Nia’s character a pain in the ars. I am a huge fan and hope they don’t mess with the “flavor” of the show.

Not a fan if Nia, I just don’t want Betty to leave. She the backbone of NCIS, L.A.
