It looks like this gang of teens is history. Netflix has cancelled The Irregulars TV series so, there won’t be a second season.
A British supernatural crime drama series, The Irregulars is loosely based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and stars Thaddea Graham, Darci Shaw, Mckell David, Harrison Osterfield, Jojo Macari, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Royce Pierreson, Clarke Peters, Olivia Grant, and Aidan McArdle. Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled and ragtag street teens, aka The Irregulars, who are manipulated into solving crimes for the arrogant and cagey Doctor Watson (Pierreson) and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes (Lloyd-Hughes). The teen gang includes Bea (Graham), Jessie (Shaw), Spike (David), Leo (Osterfield), and Billy (Macari). As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it’s up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.
News of the cancellation comes a little over a month after the series’ March 26th premiere. We know that decisions about a Netflix show’s fate are often made once 4-6 weeks of streaming viewing data is collected.
Nielsen estimated that The Irregulars was the most-watched streaming show for the week of March 29th – April 4th with 643 million minutes streamed across all of the season’s eight episodes (not including mobile viewing). It edged out The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+ with an estimated 628 million minutes streamed across the three episodes that were available at that time.
Though we don’t know for sure, a possible reason for the cancellation could be that many viewers didn’t watch the entire first season of The Irregulars so Netflix didn’t feel compelled to make a second season. We won’t know for sure unless Netflix explains the cancellation.

What do you think? Did you enjoy the first season of The Irregulars on Netflix? Were you looking forward to watching season two?
I really enjoyed and and was looking forward to a season 2. I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth having Netflix anymore, if they aren’t cancelling shows they are increasing the price.
I liked the show!
We loved it ! Don’t cancel!!
This is good news. More than likely a lot of Holmes fans started to watch it then when they realized they turned the most loved detective story line in history into a supernatural fantasy series they (like me) didn’t even bother to finish the first episode. This show was a disgrace to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s work.
Why???? I am aming several people I know who loved the Irregulars!!!! Netflix needs to cancel something else and BRING A SECOND SEASON, C’MON GUYS!!!
Wait a week and the next teenage supernatural Netflix show will arrive from the never ending conveyor belt of forgettable shows they produce.
This is utter crap! Netflix is getting as bad as FOX with canceling good shows makes me so upset! It’s like you don’t want to watch anything till you know if there is a long season list or its Uber popular because Netflix is famous for this lately! Stop making so many shows at once if you can’t keep it up with your budget but stop canceling good shows! It’s frustrating! Like this AND Sabrina from what I was told Sabrina should have had another season! Stop please and thank you 🙂
That’s a real bummer!! Just started watching it last night and really enjoying it… Not great start to my wed morning getting the news being cancelled
Sad to see another great show cancelled by Netflix. It seems like everything I enjoy from Netflix gets the ax right away.
I liked this series was looking forward to the next one so yes I’m very disappointed by this, hope someone else picks it up and does another series,
Yeah, well Thanx netshitz for getting me invested in another show just to yank it. Go fornicate with yourself, my script is cancelled. Seems as though you survive just to **** over fandom & let them down. I’m done with your chicanery!! Good riddance!!
I liked the show it’s super natural fun I like the ghosts and vampires ♀️ and zombies denom, and aliens why’s the show being canceled?,
HI I am so sad I was looking forward to see more from theThe Irregulars series. It’s so sad the netflix decided to cancel a greate show I just hope they would change their minds and bring more seasons to watch. it was a really interesting series ! i was enjoying ,and getting so excited to look forward for more of this great Series .. SO PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
I get so mad they have done this with a few good series lately and I am scared honestly to watch anything .. so frustrating!
I really enjoyed the series and I look forward to watching More it’s just the kind of show I love to watch thanks in advance
Although I am disappointed I am not surprised. I felt the series was designed to be a “one off” due to its complete deconstruction of the Holmes mythology. I mean, Sherlock was a irredeemable addict who lost his considerable mental acuity.Mrs. Hudson was a miserly slum-lord. Mycroft was some kind of secret agent who dabbled in the occult. Watson was evil incarnate (at least at first), and Lastrade was killed off! I don’t know how to build another season on that, but it would have been interesting.
It is exactly for all the reasons you outlined and more that I couldn’t care less about this dumpster pile getting cancelled.
They systematically destroyed the source material as if Netflix was lashing out at the Doyle estate over the Ebola Holmes lawsuits.
I stopped watching midway with Holmes portrayed as some sort of wannabe Fillory addict nightmare.
It’s the same reason I quit Utopia over at Prime. Destroying for destruction sale is always a stupid move.
Good riddance…
I didn’t hate the Irregulars, I just thought from a story stand point it had no where to go. The writers killed off the well known characters or made them deplorable…with no redemption arc. Your comment about Enola Holmes has some merit.
WHAT??? I am starting to hate netflix. Total bs.
That is exactly what I said you get all excited about a series start watching it they leave the storyline open and cancel it ugh!
