Dodging a cancellation pink slip is typically a TV series’ biggest hurdle but that’s apparently not the case with Wynonna Earp. The series was renewed for a fourth season last July and work on the new episodes was presumably underway. According to reports, however, production has now been delayed due to financial challenges.
IDW Entertainment owns the rights to Wynonna Earp and pays the production costs. Like Space in Canada, Syfy pays a license to air the series. Deadline reports that Syfy had quietly renewed the series for seasons four and five last year and IDW is contractually obligated to deliver both.
“IDW is committed to continuing to tell the Wynonna Earp story,” IDW said in a statement. “Much like the fans, we are passionate about not only the series, but the comics, the characters and the overall message that the Wynonna Earp franchise carries. We are in the process of working out the details for how the Wynonna story will continue and will share new details very soon.”
Though a production start date has not been set, Syfy remains committed to the series. A statement from the cable channel reads “Syfy ordered season four of Wynonna Earp from IDW and is completely committed to the series. This has not changed.”

It’s absolutely astounding that a show with probably the most atrocious ratings in the history of Television keeps getting renewed. Good for the fans. Bad for the credibility of TV.
I watched it from the beginning, I like shows like this since Grimm went off the air and z nation this is my fix for syfy shows. And we get them here in Canada. Yea
wynonna earp is my all time favorite show i hope these next seasons are as great as 1,2 & 3 i just wish they would hurry up and give us something
I’m with Kristina on this one.I wish they would hurry up and get it back on the air.This is one bad habit that I don’t want to give up.This show was my Friday night fix.I know that it costs a lot of money to do these shows.I only wish that I could just write out a check but all I can do is to hope they can solve this problem.
I hope IDW Doesn’t mess with the chemistry this show has!!! The showrunner, cast and crew are amazing and have won awards without originally being nominated!! Fan’s have pushed this #NoCHill and will continue
