Looks like Josh is getting evicted. CBS has cancelled its 9JKL TV show, after just one season. In November, the Tiffany Network ordered three additional scripts and subsequently the full episodes, but it seems that’s where the good news ends. It is “effectively cancelled,” according to THR, although the news outlet didn’t bother with any qualifiers in its tweet on the 9JKL cancellation.
A CBS sitcom, 9JKL stars Mark Feuerstein, David Walton, Elliott Gould, Linda Lavin, Liza Lapira, Matt Murray, and Albert Tsai. From creators Dana Klein and Feuerstein — a married couple — this sitcom is loosely inspired by the time they spent living next door to Feuerstein’s family. It centers on newly divorced actor, Josh Roberts (Feuerstein), who moves from LA, back to New York City, to an apartment between those of his parents, Harry and Judy (Gould and Lavin) and his brother Andrew (Walton) and sister-in-law Eve (Lapira).

9JKL: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of 9JKL averaged a 0.96 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.29 million viewers. When we sort the 25 scripted CBS TV shows we’re tracking by the demo, 9JKL currently ranks 15th, but drops to 20th place in terms of average total viewers.
CBS Comedies Considered Cancelled
As referenced in the tweet above, yesterday, CBS pulled Living Biblically from the schedule, and it seems to be cancelled, too. Meanwhile, Me, Myself and I has been considered over since early November of 2017.

Hilarious show definitely think it should have had more seasons would have tape them with the DVR and watch them it’s a shame that they didn’t give it much of a chance
I’m so upset this show was cancelled. I do believe a spin off of the patents only. Possibly leaving NY for Miami could be a great show. They are the typical NY Jewish parents. Every Jewish mom & dad I’ve ever known & absolutely loved them!! I think the parents need another chance. It was the story line of the brother & sister in law that killed the show. Come here n the rest of the show was terrific!

We loved 9JKL!! It is a shame that TV executives do not wait at least two seasons to see how a show progresses. The sitcom was a refreshing, funny change and thoroughly enjoyable.
Just so sad… very few good comedies these days. 9JKL brought me back to real tv. Loved the actors … was looking into 2nd. season and found that it is canceled! Very
So disappointed to see 9JKL was cancelled!! It was refreshing, funny and one of the greatest sitcoms since Seinfeld. I laughed in every episode!! Truly a great comedy. Maybe it was “too clean” and they need sex, drugs and cheating on shows…to bring bad influence to the next generations. Sad to see all these great shows terminated, but keep all these other toxic shows on air. Somethings got to change.

Loved this show! So sad to hear it was cancelled! If can’t compete in its time slot give it a different one. It was funny and loved the characters – hard to find a good sitcom anymore.
9JKL was corny, cute, and a welcome antidote to these turbulent times.
A pleasant 30 minutes one could count on every week. Hey CBS, bring it back !
Why are all these producers and TV show owners so stupid the cancel all the good TV shows and there are only eight on TV for less than 30 minutes please take all these horrible shows keeps them on and makes them our shows you take good Township shows and keep stupid ones on that’s never make anything only thing I should be making it straight into the garbage put 9jkl back on that’s not the only good show that you should be put back on the matter is CBS ABC all these producers in CEOs are morons don’t know… Read more »
This was a great new sitcom. Leave it to the networks to take away good family fun and replace it with more violence. They don’t give sitcoms a chance anymore. Learn from ABC, people do appreciate and watch a good sitcom, and now you’ve murdered another great one with a genius cast. Terrible!!
Bring 9JKL back. It was funny with a likeable cast. I’m disappointed that it was cancelled.
